Princeton to Hire Muslim and Hindu Chaplains

Princeton will be hiring Muslim and Hindu chaplains by the end of this month, both of whom will be responsible for organizing events within the community, student counseling, and leading worship services, the Daily Princetonian reports.

Last year, the university appointed a one-year part-time Muslim chaplain in response to increasing student demand for one. The success of the position—raising the level of participation in the program 10-fold—prompted the university to permanently fill the position and also expand the initiative to include Hindu students, too.
