Virginia Tech Retailers Cry on the Inside as Vick's Troubles Continue

September 06, 2007 05:55 PM ET | Alison Go | Permanent Link

Retailers around the Virginia Tech campus have begun pulling Michael Vick paraphernalia from their shelves in response to customer complaints, the Collegiate Times writes. Once a Hokie hero and local retail cash cow, Vick has fallen on hard times. Meanwhile, store owners are cringing at the lost revenue; one estimates that he used to sell six Vick jerseys for every non-Vick jersey he sold. But this same retailer is the forgiving type. "I feel like once [the NFL reinstates] him, we can reinstate him to the store," he said. "Everybody deserves a second chance." —Alison Go
