Like an Art Theft Movie, But Boring
Eight marble body parts have thrust the University of Virginia into an international art scandal, the Cavalier Daily writes. The story of the well-traveled artifacts begins in Sicily, wends its way through Switzerland, England, Los Angeles, Charlottesville, and eventually could end full circle in the Sicilian region of Aidone.
While not quite ready for prime time ("Thomas Crown Affair 2: The Bureaucratic Battle for Disembodied Parts," anyone?), the plot does involve tomb raiders, art thieves, diamond merchants, and even the late Jackie Kennedy. —Alison Go
