More Rankings News, But Sexier

U.S. News is not the only publication that ranks colleges, and the others that do have just as many detractors. Administrators at West Virginia University are up in arms over being named the No. 1 party school by the Princeton Review, the Daily Athenaeum writes. A student government official laments, "It's absolutely disappointing" to receive such negative press (negative? says who?) ,while another says, "We are focusing on what the University does and helping students succeed. We don't have the resources or time to do a PR campaign to help Princeton sell books."

The rankings are based on categories that range from how often students study to the type of facilities the school offers to how many students show up at the stadium for football games and how often students drink. WVU is also the No. 1 school of students who never study.

Cornell was also ambiguously named the "Hottest Ivy" by Newsweek, the Cornell Daily Sun reports. Meanwhile, the entire Ivy League community now reconsiders the definition of "hot."—Alison Go
