Secondhand Ticket for a Second-Tier Football Game = $1,100

You can buy a lot with $1,100: at least 4,400 packages of Ramen noodles, one semester or so of textbooks, even a small portion of your tuition. You can also buy a ticket to the greatest rivalry in college football: Penn State vs. Notre Dame?

According to the Penn State Daily Collegian, tickets for the September 8 event are currently the most expensive of all the biggest college "rivalries" on a handful of ticket auction sites and "most likely the top regular season game in the past few years," says a representative from Ticketcity.com.

Questions:

What idiot is buying a $1,100 ticket to a terrible matchup with one unranked team? For Joe Pa's last hurrah? We say that every year.

What idiots aren't selling their tickets for $1,100? Take the cash and laugh all the way to the bar, with a giant flat screen to your right and a bottle of Grey Goose on your left. Bottoms up. —Alison Go
