- The former president of Middlebury College wants to lower the drinking age to 18. Why? U.S. News's Sarah Baldauf spoke to him this week to find out.
- An environmental group at Boston University wants to create an optional $10 "green fee" for students. The group proposed the fee after it failed to get university support for measures that would reduce the campus's energy output, the Daily Free Press reports.
- Administrators at Indiana University seem open to a suggestion in the student newspaper yesterday that the school rename an intramural center named for a segregationist, the Daily Student reports. Though the president and dean of students did not say they support renaming the center, they do seem inclined to start a dialogue on it.
