Liberal Arts College Eliminates Loans
Davidson College announced yesterday it will eliminate loans for students who receive financial aid. In the past several years, Ivy League universities, including Princeton, Harvard, and Columbia, and elite public colleges like the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill have made similar moves, the AP reports. But many limit their loan elimination to low-income students. Davidson, says Inside Higher Ed, plans to limit loans for all students. That puts Davidson "out front of other liberal arts colleges, including some with much larger endowments," IHE says.
