Bruce Lee's study in UW

According to UW's alumni association, Bruce Lee's major was drama and not philosophy as widely believed. This misconception could be originated by Bruce Lee himself as he claimed to be majored in philosophy during the 20th Century Fox's screen test in 1965 (can be seen in YouTube or FaceBook). He was answering the producer's questions fairly smoothly until when he was asked about his education. He hesitated and then made the philosophy claim. My guess is that majoring in drama did not sound macho enough for a kung fu guy back then. However, one cannot rule out the possibility that Bruce Lee did take or audit courses in philosophy at UW.

He never majored in anything, much less graduate from the UW.

Remembering Bruce Lee

Its about time! Bruce lee was more than just a martial arts star. He majored in Philiosophy at UW. He was one of the first- Asians to break the racial barrier and teach women, blacks, and non-Asians. November 27th was his birthday. Two major biopica are coming out on his life in China.

He is definitely a person worthy of remembering.
