Surprise! Drunk Kids Steal Things

Late-night restaurants at the University of Wisconsin are debating the pros and cons of catering to the raucous post-bar crowd, the Daily Cardinal writes. While the flood of hungry drunk students seems like a business no-brainer, managing overflowing trash cans, repairs, and theft can prove overwhelming. Aside from vandalism, establishment owners worry that students' sticky fingers (stolen items include pictures off walls, tables, chairs, and even refrigerators) make staying open late not worth the trouble. "If it's not bolted down, they try and steal everything," one restaurant owner told the Cardinal.
