Philly Robbery Victims: Fleeced, but Not Stranded

Crafty but courteous armed robbers have been plaguing the Philadelphia taxi-riding scene, and at least one University of Pennsylvania student has fallen victim, the Daily Pennsylvanian writes. According to police, in the case of the Penn student, the robbers allegedly picked up a group hailing a cab, flashed a gun to the passengers after the vehicle began moving, forced one of the victims to withdraw money from an ATM, then returned them to the original pickup spot—but not before thoughtfully leaving the group with $20 to hail another taxi. These guys must be in the same union as the generous Tufts street robbers.
