Iowa State Gun Policy: Tired of Being Canadian

Some schools have responded to the Virginia Tech massacre by adopting the use of text messages as an emergency alert system, but Iowa State University seems to prefer fighting fire with fire. The school's faculty senate recommended to its president and regents that university police officers should be armed, the Iowa State Daily reports. The school's police force, which includes 31 trained and certified officers, has not carried guns since 1969.

school shootings/ virginia tech

evry school should have armed security as part of its staff. i would even go as far as saying that teachers and students with concealed carry permits should be allowed to carry thier firearms on and throughout campus. clearly the liberal attack on firearms has had no effect except for a negative one. banning firearms on school grounds makes schools targets for phsycos and makes our children easily uncontested victims. having guns on campuses doesn't increase the risk of tragedies, but but giving free rain to criminals does.
