Students Shocked After Woman Stabbed to Death

University of Arizona students have expressed "shock and dismay" after a freshman was killed in her dorm room this week, the Arizona Daily Wildcat reports. The woman's roommate has been charged with first-degree murder. Court documents allege that the suspect stabbed her roommate after being accused of property theft and that she also wrote a suicide note in the victim's name before the attack. In court yesterday, the judge entered a not-guilty plea on behalf of the suspect.

At least one student has moved out of the dorm, while others have opted to sleep elsewhere for the time being. "I'm hoping that it's just an isolated incident," says one student, "that something like that can't happen again."—Alison Go
