Feelings of dissatisfaction toward President Bush and the American economy are at record levels, according to a pair of new reports. The latest Associated Press-Ipsos poll finds that Bush's approval rating has fallen to 28 percent, a new low; meanwhile, consumer confidence ratings have dropped for the fourth straight month to a record low of 29.5, according to the RBC Cash Index.

Following its protected romp through San Francisco, the Olympic torch has moved on to Argentina. Thousands of police have been summoned to report in Buenos Aires to stand guard against the possibility of violent protests similar to those that have occurred elsewhere along the torch's route. The torch's whereabouts Thursday night, according to Argentine authorities, was a "state secret."

Hillary Clinton is back in Pennsylvania today to talk about crime prevention. She will unveil a $4 billion anticrime measure partly focused on combating recidivism by changing probation practices and existing programs. While candidates historically have spoken of crime during presidential elections, the topic has been overshadowed by the war in Iraq and the economy this election cycle. Clinton will focus on it today in an attempt to bolster her position against rival Barack Obama before the April 22 Pennsylvania primary.
