And the race goes on. Hillary Clinton pulled off wins in Ohio and Texas last night, breaking up rival Barack Obama's winning streak and stringing on the Democratic primary race until, at least, the end of April. She hinted today at a shared Democratic ticket—with her at the top. However, Obama is still ahead in the pledged delegates race.

John McCain successfully clinched his party's nomination last night, topping the needed 1,191 delegates for the GOP nomination as he easily defeated Mike Huckabee in four state primaries, including Ohio and Texas. Huckabee bowed out last night. McCain has a lunch date with President Bush today and is expected to receive the commander in chief's endorsement in the Rose Garden.

Today, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas pledged to resume peace talks with Israel, backing off from the stance he took earlier this week when he protested Israel's military crackdown on Gaza militants. Abbas wanted to boycott negotiations until Israel made a truce with the Hamas militants. Abbas did not disclose a timeline as to when talks would resume, but Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who is visiting the region, said the U.S. general in charge of bringing about "the road map" peace plan would hold a meeting next week.
