Morning Buzz: March 13, 2008

This morning a parked car exploded in a commercial district in central Baghdad, killing 11 and wounding 57. After several months of relative calm, today's bombing was the latest in a string of attacks to hit Iraq's capital. It took place in an area just outside the heavily fortified Green Zone.

"Kristen," the call girl at the center of New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer's resignation-prompting scandal, is actually a 22-year-old from New Jersey named Ashley Alexandra Dupre. The New York Times revealed her identity yesterday. In an interview Dupre told the paper: "I just don't want to be thought of as a monster. This has been a very difficult time. It's complicated."

Facebook has already made its young founder, Mark Zuckerberg, a billionaire; now a new application will allow the social-networking site's audience to make money as well. The application, called Market Lodge, will let users recommend various types of merchandise to their friends; for every recommendation that results in a sale, the user will receive a 10 percent commission.
