waiting with baited breath

I and my partner have been together for 12 years.

We've been victims of multiple crimes perpetrated against ourselves and our property. Religious freedomm is good and we have no animosity for those that choose to practice we only ask that they not force us to live by their beliefs as we don't force them to live by ours.

We without a doubt need more compassion and fairness for families regardless of the number and sex of the parents. Children need positive role models and those postive role models can be anyone regardless of sexual orientation, race, sex.

Lesbian rights

As a mother of two gloriuos children, 1 boy and 1 girl, and being a gay parent. I find no reason that my parental rights should ever be questioned. My son understands that I enjoy my relationships with women more than I do with his father. He has seen the harm that his father has brought into our home and has directed towards his mother.

I ahve explained to him that he too has a choice when he is of age to make his own choice as to his preference in relationships. I beleive that if your child sees a positive result of whom you spend time with , whether it be of the same sex or opposite, then your child will accept this choice of yours. My children see the happiness in me while I am with another woman who I care deeply about, whether it be at the dinner table or lying on the couch with her while watching a movie.

Beyond the tender touches, laughter and general talking, we keep the kissing and more personal expressions of our love where it belongs, in the bedroom behind closed doors. But is this not what parents of opposite sex do as well?

Our rights should never be in question just because we choose to have a relationship of the same sex as opposed to one of the opposite sex. I feel more complete with another woman in my arms and in my life and feel that the relationships are void of games and heartaches that I used to have when involved with men.

My children are happier when their mom is happier and it is not important if that happiness is a result of my relationship with a woman. Nor should my rights as a gay woman or a gay parent ever be questioned unless there is proof that it is damaging my children emotionally or physically which it is not. The woman in my life is tender, caring and proivides a stable enviroment in my childrens life and I am happy with it. It is just unfortuante that outsiders or politicians feel the need to question this as opposed to questioning so many other more obvious issues in the country.

I will continue my love for a woman and hope that this will ignite others to voice thier opinions as well. Either way, my happiness and my childrens happiness are the most important and we have found that with my relationship with another woman.
