Gen. David Petraeus, the four-star general in charge of Iraq, will once again step onto Capitol Hill today to delivery testimony on the progress of the war. Petraeus is recommending a 45-day "period of consolidation and evaluation" in July before deciding when to resume troop reductions. All three presidential candidates are on the Hill today to ask the general questions during the hearings.

After a not-so-welcoming reception in London and Paris, the Olympic torch makes its way today to San Francisco, where again protests are planned. Several groups have decorated the Golden Gate Bridge with a Tibetan flag and large signs pleading with the Chinese government to free Tibet. Protesters are also concerned with China's human-rights record. Security has been heightened for the torch, which, once it arrived in the United States, was immediately whisked away to an undisclosed location.

Authorities are still looking for evidence of abuse as they interview women and children who were living at the Yearning for Zion Ranch, a polygamist compound founded by jailed leader Warren Jeffs. Police first raided the compound when they received a call from a 16-year-old girl who alleged that she had given birth at age 15 and was married to a 50-year-old, which is illegal in the state of Texas. Authorities are still investigating these claims.
