Twin suicide car bombers killed at least 19 in northern Iraq today in the town of Beiji. These bombings were the deadliest in a series of attacks by al Qaeda in Iraq. The terrorist network promised to step up  assaults to mark the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

After a plane disappeared Sunday, carrying nine sky divers and their pilot, rescue workers found seven bodies in Washington State's Cascade Mountains last night. The Cessna 208 Grand Caravan was identified by its serial number. Rescue operations will resume today, but the remaining three missing are presumed dead.

In an effort to better compete with beer industry leader Anheuser-Busch, Coors and Miller have decided to combine their brewing operations in the United States. The joint venture will be known as MillerCoors and will sell products like Miller Lite and Coors Light to compete against the popular Budweiser.
