Osama bin Laden declared war on Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf. in yet another al Qaeda video release as part of a stepped-up propaganda campaign in connection with the six-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The announcement comes after al Qaeda released a documentary-style video of bin Laden's deputy Ayman al-Zawahri, who claimed the United States was being defeated in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Thousands have descended on the small town of Jena, La., today to show their support for six black teens who were initially charged with attempted murder for the beating of a white classmate. Demonstrators are upset because in the same small southern town, white students who hung three nooses on their school grounds went unpunished. Protestors say this is a perfect example of the racial disparities in the justice system, while the local prosecutor contends that he simply couldn't find a Louisiana statute under which he could punish the white students for the nooses.
Fans of NBC shows The Office and Heroes will be excited to find out that the network will be offering free downloads of those shows as part of their new service NBC Direct, which will compete with Apple's iTunes Store. The service will allow PC users to download an episode for up to a week after it airs. Mac users will have to wait longer for the service to be compatible with their machines.
