House Delegation Arrives in Iraq

September 12, 2007 11:17 AM ET | Permanent Link | Print

After two days of Iraq war testimony by Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker on Capitol Hill, seven members of the House took flight last night and have touched down in Iraq to check out the situation firsthand. The delegation, led by House GOP leader John Boehner of Ohio, consists entirely of Republicans, with the exception of Ohio Democrat Charles Wilson.

The delegation hopes to see the same positive gains that Petraeus and Crocker discussed in their testimony and will also thank the troops. No word yet on when they'll return to Washington to report on their experiences.
