Today, Gen. David Petraeus will testify before Congress on the success of the Iraq surge.  U.S. News examined the question "What now?" in this week's cover story by Anna Mulrine.

Sen. Larry Craig of Idaho will file court papers today in an attempt to withdraw his guilty plea in a Minneapolis airport bathroom sex sting. The GOP senator's future is still up in the air, as he first said he would step down at the end of the month but then said he would retain his seat if he could get his name cleared.

A truck loaded with dynamite exploded in northern Mexico last night, killing 37 people, including three journalists who had rushed to the scene. The blast created a 10-by-40-foot crater in the ground.
