People who deny that the Holocaust did happen are unfortunate, immature, and ignorant. I can also say that it angers me when people say the Holocaust never happened because like the Jews, many Czechs and Polish people were killed by groups known as "Einsatzgruppen" back in the late 1930's. (Don't believe me? Go here, and scroll down to the second paragraph where is says "History": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Einsatzgruppen)...I, myself, am part Czech and part Polish.
I think that those who deny such a horrible tragedy happened *know* somewhere in the deep recesses of their mind that it *did* happen, but refuse to acknowledge the truth for whatever odd-ball reason. (After all, one only needs to type in the world "Holocaust" under Google Images or Youtube to see proof.)
However, I will have to say that this certainly does not give Israel the right to go into Palestinian/Gaza territory and do the same as Hitler and his group of thugs did to them so many years ago - even if it is in the "so-called" name of "peacekeeping"! It does not make them any better than their enemy/executioner! And of course, as to be expected, this only makes the situation worse - fighting fire with fire, so to speak. (I know that Hamas has been a big problem - but Israel hasn't helped by imposing the restrictions/punishments they have on *ALL* Palestinians! (http://www.tlaxcala.es/pp.asp?reference=6325&lg=en)
Leonel Ceniceros said: "And that is only part of the problem, the British and US allowed them to make the best of things by moving to a hostile environment without sufficient support, living to this day in a state of siege."
I wouldn't agree that Israel has been living without sufficient support lately. Part of the problem is that the US has been assisting and supplying all of these goods (weapons especially!) to Israel - and has all but "supposedly" forgotten about the Palestinians! The U.S. has been openly rubbing shoulders with Israel, while the Israeli government/military commit their crimes against humanity!...*shrugs*...Of course other countries are going to look at this and be hostile/angry about it!
Leonel Ceniceros said: "The world can just absolutely not afford a war between Israel and Iran."
True. But in my point of view, I believe the world can no longer afford *any* more (*senseless*) wars! It's too costly - physically, emotionally, *and* economically! After being on this Earth for almost 2000 years, with all of the advancements we've had throughout our history - is this how we as humans, *supposedly* some of the smartest species on this Earth, have come to settle our problems?...War first, negotiations last...? (If any negotiation(s) at all?)
Checkpoints charge 1,000.00USD per truck!
Is there anyone that could compare to the depravity of the sephardic/Ashkinazi?....A fair question.. and besides the damage has already been done...We are not talking about aboriginal rib cracking with a flame hardened club or tearing off finger nails or burlap bags smeared with human feces and tied around tribal heads..... no wait they have done all that and far more.So when Dov Likind expresses outrage over the use of the word," concerned;" by sec.state Clinton in describing attendance or Humanitarian access for supplies. The analogy is hurt feelings of your dinner guests whose teeth are dripping blood on your white linen and they have stacked thirteen hundred bodies in the canyon behind your gated rancho community but innocent until video taped or standing in the Hague wearing prison Garb.
Israel and Iran continuing "US-USSR" type Cold War
Both Israel and Iran have grievances that started during the US/USSR Cold War. That is over but not the hostile attitudes of these smaller states. The consensus of the world is that neither of them are in danger beyond their refusal to grow up and act maturely. The US has now a handle on Iraq and Afghanistan, but the hostility of Israel and Iran for each other has to be diminished. It is a Cold War scenario, now insane, that Israel and Iran can have an actual war. The heart of the hostile attitude of Iran is that the CIA helped their rogue military overthrow their government in 1953. The heart of the hostile attitude of Israel is more difficult to understand. Ignorant people still deny the absolutely horrifying experience of the Holocaust. This has been to be the worst to ever befall a large group of people. The fact that is was so systematically organized and allowed by the rest of the world is truly beyond imagination. And that is only part of the problem, the British and US allowed them to make the best of things by moving to a hostile environment without sufficient support, living to this day in a state of siege. So their grievances are more than justified. But the rest of the world is telling them that nobody can afford any more escalation of tensions. The world is too fragile to continue with old grudges, however justified they were. The world can just absolutely not afford a war between Israel and Iran.
UNTIL ALL AMERICANS WAKE UP TO THEIR MEDIA BIAS....
The plight of the Palestinians really touches a raw nerve with me. My heart aches for every one of them. I am sick and disgusted by the constant parade of Israelis with American, Australian, European accents protesting how THEY are the victims. It is Israel who attacks every neighbouring country when it chooses. It is using American bombs, phospherous, bullets, planes, tanks and they are all paid for by American taxpayers money. Americans need to wake up now and smell the coffee. Israel cannot be allowed to make enemies with most of its neighbours. It daily threatens to attack. It is the ONLY Middle East country with NUCLEAR weapons at Dimona. They refuse to allow inspectors in to check and yet protest to the world about Iran. Israel from day 1 has refused to comply with UN regulations. It takes more and more of the Palestinians lands and will not give basic human rights to Palestinians. Look at the WATER situation. Israelis have swimming pools, car washes, lush gardens, cheap water...Palestinians pay high prices for a tanker to fill a little tank at their homes. I am in awe of the many Jewish organisations that work tirelessly to highlight the horrendous abuse of the Palestinians. Israel does not want a 2 state solution and it will never allow a 1 state solution with equal rights for all. No,it wants everything...LAND,MONEY,ARMS.GAS,OIL,WEAPONS. We now know after GAZA that every Palestinin is a target. The women would have more children (Israel must keep the population under control) and the children are growing up knowing hardship and horror. 420 children murdered in a few weeks...thousands left handicapped. YES AMERICA, wake up and educate yourself. This is wrong in every sense of the world. America needs to make Israel behave. Viva Palestina.
Deborah Solomon regarding long term solutions to the Israel-Palestinian conflict
I have repeatedly stated for many years that any long term solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict will have to include continuing to build healthy relationships and friendships through organizations such as Shivet Achim where Palestinian children are located that need heart surgery and Jewish Doctors perform the surgery at no cost to the families.
It is also important for people to believe they have opportunities for education and meaningful work in their lifetime. This makes these suicide bombers much less appealing when people have hope that they and their children can have a successful future. Palestinians need to believe there is hope for them and their children to be able to lead lives with meaningful work and to treat others respectfully and be treated respectfully themselves. This may seem like an oversimplification to a complex issue, however, I believe it is a most important issue that must be dealt with. I also believe that muslim people need to know that they are not the only ones concerned about low moral standards that some nations with western values have. There are many American citizens that are also concerned about turning the tide for the next generation on this issue as well. We obviously have to strive to be able to settle differences by debating issues in a reasonable and respectful way like civilized human beings.
So true! So true!
Hee hee! Dennis, I second your headline!
You know, it's nice that America is pledging $900 million to help with the rebuliding of Gaza. But my question is - why isn't Israel being held responsible for their own destruction? Why don't they pay for the damage *THEY* caused? Why does America have to pay for it? How many times must we wipe their butts - when they very well could do it on their own?...Afterall, I'm sure that they're getting more than enough money from our government/charities as it is - so why not? (In addition for paying for their destruction and the rebuilding of Gaza, I think they should also pay for any and all physical and mental health care, too!)
It's kind of as the old saying goes, "You break it, you pay for it." Same should be true for Israel: "*YOU* bomb it, *YOU* pay for it!" (Especially when it comes to hospitals, ambulances, schools, and any/all care thereafter!) That's BS!
Israel, hands off my tax dollars!
Hey, how about this for an eye-catching headline someday:
UN CONFERENCE ASKS CLINTON TO BOYCOTT ISRAEL
Yo, dog, count me in!
U.S. allies must agree not to destroy infrastructures that are paid for with hard earned; much needed U.S. tax payer’s dollars.
February 24, 2009
Subject: U.S. allies must agree not to destroy infrastructures that are paid for with hard earned; much needed U.S. tax payer’s dollars.
According to msnbc.com news services updated 2:54 p.m. PT, Mon., Feb. 23, 2009, the United States plans to pledge more than $900 million to help rebuild Gaza after Israel's invasion and strengthen the Western-backed Palestinian Authority.
Secretary of State Clinton will announce aid during her first Mideast trip. The money will be channeled through U.N. and other bodies and will not be distributed via the militant group Hamas, which rules Gaza. State of State Hillary Clinton plans to make the announcement next week at a Gaza donor’s conference in Egypt. Clinton is set to visit Israel and the West Bank next week after attending a conference in Cairo on Gaza reconstruction, Israeli and Palestinian officials said Monday.
The humanitarian and rebuilding funds that will be donated to the Palestinian Authority will help Gaza recover from Israel's offensive against Hamas last month.
During the Israel Defense Forces last month's offensive in the Gaza Strip; there were massive destruction of properties. A total of 53 installations used by the United Nations Relief and Works agency were damaged or destroyed during Israel's Gaza campaign including 37 schools - six of which were being used as emergency shelters - six health centers, and two warehouses.
And according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the buildings destroyed included 4,100 residential homes (with 17,000 damaged), 20 mosques, 25 educational institutions and medical facilities, 31 security offices, 16 government buildings, and 1,500 factories and shops.
The Office of the U.N.'s Humanitarian Coordinator pointed out that 16 health facilities and an equal number of ambulances were destroyed or damaged during the 22-day conflict. Many of the institutions destroyed were paid for with U.S., U.N., and allied funds. Will this continue to happen every time there is a conflict in the region? It is not acceptable to me as a tax payer, and I am certain it is not acceptable to the American people period.
As we move forward, the world community must work to minimize conflicts and protect innocent civilians with all its powers. My question is; how can the U.S protect the U.S. 900 million dollar investment in Gaza? How can we persuade Israel and its Defense Forces, which has a right to defend itself, not continue to destroy infrastructures that are paid for with hard earned; U.S. tax payer’s dollars? What can the global community do to ensure that we don’t have to revisit this situation time and time again? Furthermore, war is not green and in addition to lives lost, weapons of war contaminate the air, sea, soil, and civilian water systems.
I read that Aristotle said long ago” when a man respects law and justice, he is the best of animal but when separated from law and justice, he is the worst of all”. We must never let our silence make us a party to injustice!
MID
U.N. Conference
When it comes to Israel any US administration changes the dictionary meanings of many inconvenient words.
1)'Racism' is 'not racism' when practiced by Israel.
2)'Proliferation' becomes non-proliferation even with a huge pile of nuclear weapons.
3)“ Human Rights” are not violated in spite of brutal massacres and atrocities.
4)“Pluralism” is equivalent to discrimination of the worst kind.
5)“Apartheid” is banned word while describing this just country with its 'Jewish Character of Israel.”
6)“Democracy” means denying franchise and equality before law to a huge population under government control for decades.
7)“Terrorist” is the word not to be applied to Israelis who were labeled terrorists by The British government prior to 1948. All history using that cursed word for Israelis should be off limit to the new generation.
8)Never mention the destruction of the nation of Palestine in 1948. They did not have a nation, they are not to be treated as normal people having normal human rights.
The West with its guilty conscience may fool itself with this new dictionary, but the rest of the world population sees it as a mammoth absurdity.
