Dobson for President—Let Him Test His Rigid Views With the Voters

Dobson
Dobson is hurting for followers...any publicity he can grab, good or bad, no doubt gives him undeserved spotlight. Dobson does not preach the word of the Bible. He exploits it for financial gain. The difference between Dobson and Obama is that we can't vote one off the island.
This is the same guy who spent a considerable amount of time trying to prove that Spongebob is gay. Anyone who tries character assassination on a cartoon character is not worthy of any kind of debate.

There is no Christianity without the Resurrection...
If somebody believes that Jesus' body is in a tomb then it is impossible for that person to be a Christian as defined by the Bible. Those people can call themselves whatever they want but such people are defying the Biblical definition of what it means to be called a Christian. For a person to openly deny the Bible who claims to be a Christian is someone who defies the one source that gives them any authority in the first place to make any claims about Christianity at all.
To be a Christian means to believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus' physical body. And to trust HIm alone for the forgiveness of your sins. Christ's sinless body is a substitution for our corrupted bodies (who believe) natural with sin. His death and burial represents our bodies (who believe)as the death and burial of sin. And the resurrection represents the new nature God gives to those who believed on Jesus, a nature which gives the believer freedom from sin... no longer a slave to it.
James Dobson might get himself self bruised and bumped up for entering into the political arena (which he has every right to do as a citizen). But he has done so only because he has a passion for the family unit and specifically he does not want the next American president to push a Pro-Abortion agenda which Obama will do. Dobson believes abortion leaves psychological damage of guilt and shame on those who have them as well as harming a human baby's life... there has been a decades long debate about this idea and many side with him and many don't.
He is one of a few people who are willing to makes stands for the family and even take heat for it. No amount of money would cause him to put his reputation on the line like that. His agenda is the American family and the health of families world wide... he cares about yours and mine.
He doesn't like Obama's positions on abortion , pure and simple.
And I assure you that Dobson does not identify with the beliefs of those people that you saw in Jerusalem who claimed to be Christians... true believers believe in the Resurrected Christ. And Lisa, you need to decide whether you believe Jesus is in that tomb or not.
My daughter
I am so proud of my daughter. As for you Raz, I don't need to prove God's authority and certainly God does not need me to prove His Word, His existence or come to His defense. Look at the wind, can you see it? Can you grasp it in your hands? We certainly can feel its effects and see its results. We can measure its speed and direction. We can describe it. We know it is there. We use it to produce energy. An yet inspite of all of us, it is still the wind. . . .
How thankful we should all be that we are permitted to enter into a discussion like this. This is a great nation and we should never take it for granted. Our freedom is precious. Voting is one of our great privileges and should not be taken lightly. We each have the responsibility to decide for ourselves who we should vote for and why. Personally, I have not decided who I will vote for. I am still listening and learning about each one and trying to discern fact from fiction.
Enough
While these religious nuts blather, expecting to be poofed up to heaven, real people are struggling and suffering because of their ignorance.
God willing, they'll get their wish. May they be poofed up before the next election. God forbid, we should have to pay for one more year of their blind stupidity....Seriously:
How long must America pay for the religious right's magical thinking?
The Rapture
I have read a lot of these messages and I could try to argue my point, but if you don't take the Bible for what it says and truly believe, arguing is pointless. Those who believe also KNOW that persecution of the church is a part of the end times. I guess whe will all truly know when the Rapture of the Christian Church takes place and those who are left behind will either finally get it or they will continue to live in denial and will then suffer the consequences of their decision! I believe if this country puts a man in office who has a middle of Hussein, is insane and we will suffer the consequences.
Oh, by the way, the Rapture is going to happen and it will probably be a lot sooner than you think!! PRAISE YE THE LORD!!!

I was raised on Dobson and Focus on the Family and I have to say I'm so disappointed to see the direction his ministry has taken.
For Dobson to attack the nature of, and question the sincerity of, another Christian's faith is the utmost in divisiveness, presumption, and hubris. Last I checked none of those is among the fruits of the Spirit -- perhaps my copy of the New Testament is out of date.
Color me unimpressed.

John W. Mashek
Unfortunately for people like Mr. Mashek (the author of this article), God's views are just as intolerant as Dr. Dobson's. Jesus gives plenty of warning to us all.
Christmas Church Fight
Hey, remember when the Armenian and Greek Orthodoxer Priests were fighting in the church of the Nativity, and the Palestinian priest had to break it up?
And on Christmas Eve no less.
That was funny!!
Lets put Obama and Dobson in the ring, to settle this like men, rather than sqwaking girly pundits.
tombs
I forgot to add one thing. While in Jerusalem visiting the wailing wall, my guide told me about the Americans buying family tombs on the Mount of Olives from Israeli and Palestine families for $50,000. The families there would then move their loved one's remains to another place in less expensive real estate, and the American who purchased the tomb would bury their family member there. I couldn't understand at all why someone would want to bury their loved ones so far away from home, and asked about that. I was told that when the second coming occurred, Jesus would rise out of the tomb at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and ascend to heaven the second time with all the blessed ones, and the reason people wanted the tombs right across the valley on the Mount of Olives was so that they would be right at hand when the second coming happened, and could come out of their tombs quickly to go with Jesus. Although this made a bit of sense, it was still not very easy for me to accept, as until that day, I had no idea Jesus was still buried anywhere. I thought he was in heaven. I left Jerusalem feeling sure that I would never go back to that town. It is just full of people like James Dobson, in my opinion, who have turned a gentle carpenter's message into a crusade for worldly truth, and from everything I was taught, this is out of character with Jesus's life and actions while he was alive.

John W. Mashek covered politics in Washington for four decades with U.S. News & World Report, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and the Boston Globe. His primary beats were Congress, the White House, and national politics. He covered every presidential election from 1960 to 1996. He was a panelist in three televised presidential debates in 1984, 1988, and 1992.
