Obama Seems to Care About U.S. Soldiers' Lives; Why Doesn't the ACLU?

The White House has reversed course and is now seeking to block the release of photos showing alleged abuse of detainees, an administration official has just told the New York Times. You don't have to be in favor of abuse to see that releasing these photos was a bad idea. Here's the quote from the White House source:

"Last week, the president met with his legal team and told them that he did not feel comfortable with the release of the D.O.D. photos because he believes their release would endanger our troops and because he believes that the national security implications of such a release have not been fully presented to the court... The president strongly believes that the release of these photos, particularly at this time, would only serve the purpose of inflaming the theaters of war, jeopardizing U.S. forces," the official said, "and making our job more difficult in places like Iraq and Afghanistan."

Geoff Morrell, the Pentagon press secretary, said of the nation's top military generals: "Odierno and McKiernan and Petraeus have all voiced real concern about this. Particularly in Afghanistan, this is the last thing they need."

As I've written before, no possible good can come from releasing those photos. Why the ACLU isn't more concerned about jeopardizing the lives of U.S. soldiers on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan is beyond me.

Stupid Decision

Joan,

I would guess by your comments that you had someone type your response since you are obliviously a moron and thus unable to type it yourself. If you had traveled to the region you would have observed that it takes very little to inflame Muslim population especially when whipped into a frenzy by Islamic terrorists. I’m also sure that you blamed us for 9/11. When you wake up for your chemical induced stupor you will see what you and your ilk are turning this country into (if there is anything left). You are also most likely against law abiding citizens from owning guns as well. Why don’t you move to Europe. Your attitude matches their attitude matches theirs. They won’t fight for their freedom anymore than you will.

I’ll let you pick the appropriate definition that best fits you (or your friend that typed your entry can read it to you):

Moron

1. a person who is notably stupid or lacking in good judgment;

2. a person of borderline intelligence in a former classification of mental retardation, having an intelligence quotient of 50 to 69.

The ACLU doesn't care

I can tell you why the ACLU is not concerned. The ACLU has been anti-American for years. They only protect convicted criminals, foreign enemies of America, and anyone else who is against the true values of the American people. When was the last time you heard of them actually standing up for anyone that has stood up for America. The ACLU is run by Marxists and should be eliminated.

Waterboarding

Naive fools. There is no value whatsoever in releasing these photos, other than to have a few of you feel better about yourselves. To second guess people frantically trying to prevent the next 911 (or worse) from the safe, cushy confines of 2009 is as hypocritical as it absurd.

I suggest you sniveling do-gooders book the first flight to Pakistan and see how long your skinny white neck lasts among these barbarians. As the old saying goes, only a fool takes a knife to a gunfight.

Idiots! You truly don't deserve to survive!
