PAULA DEEN'S RECIPES
THE SUBJECT OF THE RECIPES THAT HAS TOO MUCH FAT: WELL THE WAY
I SEE IT THERE IS A WAY THAT EVERY RECIPE COULD BE REVISED TO FIT ANY LIFESTYLE. SO THE WAY PAULA DEEN FIXES HER DISHES IS FINE. NOT ALL LIFESTYLES ARE THE SAME.

I have to agree with everyone else that has posted comments. WE are responsible for what we eat. She is not irresponsible for cooking the way that she wants to. Each of us is responsible for what we put in our own mouths. Don't choose supersize if you need to lose weight. It is hardly someone elses fault if we chose to eat too much or the wrong things. I love Paula Deen recipes and eat them within reason. Take responsibility for yourselves American and dont blame another person or a restraunt for your inability to control yourself.

"Come on America" Get Real! We've all got to help. Do we really think all of this obesity is only from our calorie intake and calorie burning. My grandparents cooked just like Paula, they weren't obese and they didn't jog. So what happened to us. Well I bought some organic bananas, I thought something was wrong with them because they were smaller. I've bought Roma tomatoes for years, I've noticed that they've gotten bigger and have less flavor and instead of the deep red color that I use to see, they look pink now. In other words what makes the no-organic bananas larger than the organic bananas. If growth hormones are put in our foods, produce and meats, do we honestly think it's not going to cause growth in people. Yet do we read many articles yelling and demanding that the FDA take responsibilty like it's being requested/demanded of Paula.
I saw this article while looking for one of Paula's recipes for Dutch Ovens & Slow Cookers. I was watching the show and thought the "Peach & Blueberry Cobbler" recipe not only looked delicious but seem not to have alot of sugar in it. I'm not diabetic but I'm very over weight. I weigh over 300lbs. Now she also featured a "Mac & Cheese" recipe that lokked totally mouth watering, but I felt quilty just looking at it. So I chose not to try it. I want to make good changes, I really like fruits and veggies so I'm trying to eat even more, but eating fruit with growth hormones is an up hill battle. Try walking up hill at 300lbs, it's harder and takes twice as long, so you avoid it. If Paula needs to change her recipes so does the FDA!

If every one woould take care of theit own business and stay out of others this would be a better world. The problem in america is not the type of foods. We have been eating these staple foods for years. The problem is too much computers, playstations. cellphones, tv's etc. People have gotten lazy.
Most people have nothing better to do than to sit around and critize someone else. If they wre up doing something they wouldn't be worring what someone else was doing.

Everyone is free to make their own choices. I personally do not need someone else monitoring what I watch, the music I listen to, insurance I use, car I buy, where I shop for groceries, when I turn over my IRA/KOI or anything else. Take responsibilty for your self and not the world.
Paula Deen vs Mary Kate Cary
You can't blame Paula Deen for Americans being fat. The blame is in our own hands and what we put in our mouths. You don't like her recipes, then don't make them. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to eat her cooking. You can substitute low fat ingredients and still make things from her cookbooks. They won't be as fattening but will still taste good. As for you Mary Kate Cary, get a life. Not everyone wants to eat dried out foods with no taste and they love Paula Deen's cooking. Everything in moderation! That includes what we eat. Give me a break, blaming fat America on one person and the way she cooks, is just plain ridiculous!

First let me say that I truly enjoy Paula Deen's recipes and at one time subscribed to her magazine. But I quit taking it because there was no way I could read or cook a fourth of all of them.
I admire her for what she has made of her life and her honesty. I believe what you see of her in genuine. I know her food has fattening ingredients but I tend to agreed with one of the other people who commented that everyone should take responsibility for themselves and if they want to cook her recipes, just don't gorge yourself of them or any other food. Today, junk food is so readily available that most kids and adults tend to eat hamburgers, etc. out way too much and that is what puts to weight on. A person who eats out at least 90% of the time, will gain excessive weight. There is no portion control in what is served and I don't believe the restaurants use the most healthy ingredients. I am 62 years old and I remember my Mother cooked all our meals at home except for what we ate at school. My Daddy and Mother took their lunch to work in a lunch box. They were hard working people and we had home grown food and canned food during the winter. We were not obese and did not eat out at all. A lot of the food I never tasted until I moved away from home at age 21 and went to work and lived alone.
The point I am making is that people do have to take responsibly for what they eat and at least 85% of what their children eat. Kids have money and they will buy candy bars and soft drinks and other junk food when the opportunity arises. I don't believe this can be regulated by the government. The government is to involved in everyone's personal life as it is.
A good idea would be to not give kids money to blow at the candy store or Wendy's or McDonald's or other fast-food places. It doesn't hurt the kid to hear the word no and then to back it up.
Lastly, Paula Deen has good recipes. You just have to use control in eating them after you prepare them. Only eat a serving and don't back for seconds.
Thanks for letting me give my opinion.
To eat or not or eat
If you have a problem with her cooking, then don't cook the food. Look, there are people that come from all over the world to get Southern food. Paula is a wonderful strong woman! I just read her memoir and she come too long-a-way to be trampled on by people who don't like her ingredients. . .and by the way in her book she says you can experiment with the ingredients to your taste. She encourages you to change it and make it your own! Hmmmm? So you don't have to cook exactly like her if you don't want to. And i doubt that you even enjoy food on the holidays. Don't hold Paula Deen account for what an adult feeds a child. Y'all are just looking for someone to point the finger at instead of yourselves. Take responsibility for what you feed yourselves and the children. Why don't y'all be more joyful next time, maybe it will lengthen your life instead of shorten it with your bitterness. A laugh and a smile is healthier than a frown and a groan.

I HATE LIBERALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
People have a choice of whether they should to put the whopper down or shove it down there throat. People need to stop blaming other people for there own lack of self control. STOP STOP STOP put the burger down... DAMN IT...
This is Paula's living your just pissed that you dont have enough time to cook the food because once it is in your hands you have already eatin it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love you Paula
