PUNCH DRUNK PRESIDENT

Your spin on the equally disastrous 60 Minutes interview is lacking an unbiased perspective.

I've watched the youtube clips: There's a reason that Steve Kroft looked so befuddled at Obama's incessant chortling over pertinent matters of national interest.

There's a reason that Steve Kroft finally interrupts the addlepated Obama laugh track and asks: "What's so funny? Are you PUNCH DRUNK??!?"

Combine that with all of Obama's teleprompter gaffes-namely thanking himself at a St. Patrick's Day speech-and you start to recognize the disintegration of the myth that Obama is "The Greatest Communicator Of All Time."

Obama complished more in 40 days than Bush in 8 years!

He went to the late night show to speak to people. Why cannot the obama haters see the obvious?

Looks can be deceiving...

Who cares what the guy looked like.. For gosh sakes, is that what we are judging this man on? He's far better looking than the last president for certain but is it truly how he "looks" [or even acts] that will determine what goes in our children's history books? I think Bush did a swell job of making us American's all look like a bunch of asses - and i don't for a second think that Obama is making it worse, even if his behavior is less than perfect. Seriously people, when we resort to caring about a persons presentation too much what we end up with is the common talk banter of Fox News Corp on Hannity and Combs or something similar to the Rush Limbaugh BS played all over the radio. If you're a subscriber to that stuff, great for you. But you may as well be a damn robot. This article should have been written about the policies discussed in Obama's future agenda. Instead we are reviewing him as if he were a celebrity. First black president or not - the guy deserves credit but I don't think for a second that its necessary to analyze his every move. Is this really what we care about in this country??

Obama on 60 minutes

And the giggle fit was..... presidential? Do you honestly think Obama "looked" better on 60 Minutes when he could not stop laughing about such a serious problem as people losing their jobs, homes, pets??? Children being uprooted from their schools? But Obama looked good??? Obama was in the White House and the serious reporter Steve Kroft who did the interview seemed unable to believe the giggling response coming out of Obama. We're embarassed again in front of the whole world.

Punch Drunk

Mary,

Making a joke about the special olympics was in poor taste, but I don't think its a big deal.

How could you not mention the fact that Obama LAUGHED while describing the state of the economy? Are you a real reporter or a just a blogger?

Here's what Mary Ann Akers from the Washington Post says:

"Should President Obama be laughing right now?

The most memorable moment of the president's interview on "60 Minutes" Sunday night came when reporter Steve Kroft asked, "Are you punch drunk?" That came after Obama, in what could otherwise be deemed a nearly flawless interview, inexplicably chuckled as he talked about the disaster that is the nation's economy.

We asked some of Washington's savviest public relations strategists to weigh in on what they thought of the president's "gallows humor," as he dubbed it. Here's what they had to say:"

And she goes on with the quotes...

How could you not mention this very controversial thing in your evaluation of his interview?

It takes all kinds to fill the freeway

Mary Cary,

You're an idiot.

Obama needs to focus

Mr. President. Please get back to work. Your not funny, and your not cute. You are the president of the most powerful contry in the world. How do you have time to go see a comedy and run this country at the same time? Last I checked, people who have serious issues to sdress have seruous scheadules to keep, and Jay Leno is not someone who will help in resolving this issue, neither are any of the journalist. Get serious amd start reading the bills that your puppet Pelosi is sending you.

only on the job for 3months

I have complete confidence in our new President....

I thought the interview was good,I would like to know what the hell...people want this president to do w/ this economic mess...that he had not a damn thing to do with !!!!!

Instead of talking about stupid crap like whether or not he was drunk...we should be getting behind him...

Bail Out?

How can we justify 900 million dollars to Hamas when they are training their children to become suicide bombers?

obama did not look good

I thought the interview was a disaster. Loosing jobs, and a bad economy is nothing to laugh about. This boob has no respect for the engine of the united states. I walked away feeling worse about him then I already do. I'm counted the days he gets out of office. He is a disaster.
