Even ten years ago, if I had suggested that the majority party’s proposed bill would be withheld from the minority party two hours from the vote — and then one copy was grudgingly provided, to be shared by all 435 Representatives , you would have looked at me like I was a crazy person…….
Well that’s exactly what happened two weeks ago Friday when Congress voted on and passed the infamous HR 2454 Cap and Trade/Carbon Emissions Bill. Final vote: 219 Yea, 212 Nay. A little after 3 am on that very same day a 300 page amendment was added to the original 900+ pages. This is the longest suicide note in history and will further hasten our downward economic spiral. The Senate looks to debate it this Fall where it will likely get nowhere. Friday’s vote may have been a gift to the POTUS for the upcoming UN meeting knowing there’s little chance of it getting thru the Senate. Before Friday’s vote I made my feelings known to our Democratic Congressman. I see he voted No but I’ve no idea what his real motivation was. Some that voted Yes received calls 20:1 urging a No vote and they still voted Yes.
This is about more than just higher electricity rates. It’s a massive redistribution of wealth, further limits our freedoms all under the guise of reducing an essential trace greenhouse gas, and does next to nil for energy independence. This Manmade Global Warming/Climate Change House Of Cards is tumbling down. Every week more and more new contrary evidence is seeing the light of day. The Mainstream Media won’t report it, but this vital information is getting out to those that want honest debate on this important issue.
Looking past the Senate this Fall we have the December Copenhagen UN meeting on a new Global Warming Treaty. Remember the Kyoto Treaty? Well you ain’t seen nothing yet. I shudder to think what the U.S. delegation would love to commit us to for years or decades forward. Lastly there’s the EPA waiting in the wings to regulate all things CO2. Recently a leaked string of internal EPA e-mails detailed suppression of evidence that undermines the CO2 argument. Many derided the career EPA employee as not being a climatologist. Well Mr. Carlin has a physics degree. Al Gore is no climatologist or scientist but he’s allowed to testify before Congress on this issue. Madness!
Remember Friday’s vote, because if this horror show is implemented on the American public it will blow up in our face as it has in every country this has been tried. At what cost in dollars and individual freedoms? Mark your calendar in RED, because that is the path we are heading toward. Contact your Senators and ask them if they’re prepared to defend a Yes vote for this misguided Bill. Let them know a NO Vote will ensure your support next election cycle.

Cap and trade lunacy
American industry is facing the biggest crisis since the great depression and the gov is laying on a new layer of complexity to anyone who uses substantial amounts of energy - such as American industry.
This action makes absolutely no sense. This will further propel companies to outsource manufacturing to "developing countries" like Mexico and China.
Once again America's "big head" leads the way to shoot American Industry in the foot while we make world peace, and nation build. Our leaders simply don't get it.
We are quickly becoming less and less relevant in the world stage. A superpower that was.
Reality check.... This country is teetering on a depression and some want to spend massive amounts of money so we can trade carbon credits while the countries that manufacture the products we use do what they want.
This is the height of arrogance, bordering on insanity.
How bad does it have to get before Washington figures out we are in serious trouble as a country? Apparently a lot worse.
Cap and trade out, nuclear in
One reason we have a CO2 problem is because the Rain Forest is being raised. Trees take on CO2 and give off oxygen - you should know that from high school. France generates 80+ percent of its energy from nuclear plants. Why are the Democrats pushing cap and trade and not nuclear ?
We have nuclear power in Northern Alabama and coal power in LA (lower Alabama ). Guess who pays the most.
As real estate people say: Nuclear, Nuclear, Nuclear.
Debunking cap and trade
While I don't dispute that the government has a role to play in regulating the economy, Obama has overstepped that role. His way is to pick the winners and losers, arbitrarily and without any consideration of the cost to the overall economy.
Unfortunately for most of us, his approach doesn't work. It violates the basic premises of economics. If you subsidize the unproductive and tax the productive out of existence, the economy will shrink and unemployment and the deficit will rise.
No one with any grasp of science believes that windmills and solar panels can replace fossil fuels. The government can subsidize the former all they want and provide disincentives for using the latter, but this can't overcome physical reality.
Global warming is a ruse that is being used to justify cap and trade. Granted, carbon dioxide levels have been rising, but the planet has been cooling over the past decade. The link between manmade carbon dioxide production and global temperatures has not been established. There have been periods in the past of great increases in global warming, long before man inhabited the planet.

Folks, this bill is about the trillion-dollar business of trading carbon credits. Nothing else. The whole concept of buying carbon credits as a large energy consumer is that they allow you to excuse yourself and your inefficient energy use into a virtual, or imaginary, state of compliance. That is to say, you are not exceeding your carbon allowance on paper because you paid a fee. You buy the credits, you use them to lower the carbon requirement, and you get a pass.
But think about it. You do not really comply in the sense of a clean-air, real-world, anti-pollution reality. That is to say, you are not exceeding your legal carbon allowance because you were allowed to use the monopoly money that the carbon-cops sold you. They sold it to you so you could buy them off. But the actual level of pollution and carbon-emissions are not reduced.
If you're saying wait, I thought that reducing carbon-emissions was the goal, join the crowd. We're being sold a bill of goods under the guise of a bill of goodness. Shame on us if we buy.
It's a bit complicated. That's the idea. Once you figure it out, your jaw hits the floor. The "trade" in cap and trade is where Wall Street comes in. And it's where they make out... like bandits. Again.
You see, the federal government just seems to want a country full of energy-efficient entities. That is the hook. They only seem to. What they really want is your money. But they realize you are very tired of giving it to them. That's why they've hired Wall Street to do the job in the form of carbon-credit trading. While everyone is busy worrying about government-run health care, they've farmed out to the private sector the one thing government does well: stealing money from the people it purports to serve.

What would be better for our country is to build more nuclear power plants that would put more Americans to work, emit zero GHG emissions, boom American manufacturing. Cap and trade will hurt our current refining and coal fired power plants and the increased trade/tax will get passed on down to the consumer.
It's a giant scam
Obama says he wants to reduce carbon emissions by 80%. Clearly anyone who supports him in this effort has absolutely no clue about the subject. Think about it for a moment... if the only way to reduce carbon emissions by 100% is to wipe out all life on this planet, where is 80%? All alive, but confined to a room with nothing but bread and water? Well, the taxes will certainly usher us into that, won't it?
