Gay Schools Controversy

MORE UNDERSTANDING

I honestly believe creating a school just for kids who are gay is a dumb idea. By isolating every gay child or teen and putting them in the own schools will never help the fact that they will always be harassed. How will the non gay childen and teens learn how to interact with gay pears if they are not around ? I personally think it is how you raise your child. If you raise your child to be more understanding of other children's liking, as far as "liking of the same sex" I'm sure there would be less harassment and less narrow-minded people!! I do understand many points fo view because I my self am not gay, but I do have friends who are gay and I accepted because my parents raised me to be more understanding.

LGBT kids DO need to be protected, I've seen kids get beaten up and taken to the hospital for being gay.

Thanks...

Ridiculous? Really? Fine, you can think that all I know is that I'm 14 and I like to kiss gilrs. I don't care what you think...You have no right to say being gay is a choice.

Ridiculous?

Hey Pat, when did you choose to be "straight"? How old were you when you made the decision? Can you remember? And by what authority do you have to make the statement it's a choice? Please provide the facts. Oh and by the way, did you choose to have a sick mind or were you born that way?

Ridiculous

There is no evidence that environments in the public schools are any worse for gay/lesbian students than straight students - unless you count the number of gay/lesbian students accosted by their lovers.

Besides, these are children. There's no such thing as a gay/lesbian middle schooler or elementary schooler. It's a choice, people. No one is born that way. Children, who aren't old enough to legally be having sex of any kind, shouldn't be making decisions like this at these ages. It's sick that the state is supporting this child abuse.

A dead end. Sooner or later segregated schools will be perceived as being of different quality and subject to parental complaints. Even if "separate but equal," res judicata.
