thank you

Thumbs up to giving childhood cancer some attention. Rarely does it get the attention it so desperately needs.

Thank you!

Thank you

Thank you for publishing the letter about childhood cancer. As a mom to a 3-year-old cancer survivor, I am so thankful that U.S. News and World Report has joined our fight against this disease that takes the lives of too many little heroes each year.

Young Adults with cancer (ages 19-39)

What about the young adults with cancer between the ages of 19-39. They now surpass the non-survival rates more than children or adults. Doctors admit that they are baffled by how to treat this group of patients because they are too old for pediatric conventional treatments and too young for older adult treatments for cancer. Young adult cancers are on the rise and the medical professtion needs to stand up and take notice. It is already out of control!!

Cancer Up Close

Rebecca Thatcher is right. The "rah rah" attitude so prevalent in cancer makes it seem like we're much closer to curing it than we are. It's still killing a lot of people, and it's making those of us who survived it acutely aware that the fight is far from over. Let's not forget those whose lives were taken by cancer, and let's remember than many more of us live in fear that it may return.

The SELECT trial was bogus. They used synthetic vitamin E known to be poorly assimilated. Also, and of great importance, taking the Alpha variety of "E" exclusively will never be effective ...... use mixed tocopherol "E" to get the very important Gamma fraction. Taking Alpha only proven innefective and possibly even dangerous as research shows Alpha displaces existing Gamma already in the cells.

Sidebar:Drug companies don't need PC cure from vitamins/ supplements. Guess who supplied the innefective synthetic "E" ? Check it out.

Vitamin E increases testoterone levels so I don't understand the rational behind adding vitmin e to the study. I would think a better vitamin regimin would be chromium, 200 mcg of selenium, and 2-4 grams of vitamin c per day. selenium in the form of SAM-E would likely be the best anti cancer form.
