I don't think that the test taking skills should be accounted when rating schools. the one true factor that should decipher which school deserves its spots is the academic studies, and what that school has to offer as well as how are the students meeting those standards. My school is one that isn't like a regular high school, and yet we were graded as if we were. Being #1 in queens isn't bad however, so I'm not complaining. i just feel that the way schools are graded should be changed. Schools that are big like Stuyvesant and Townsendharis shouldn't be listed as top schools because that's there old reputation. Times change, and new schools are to lead. =]
Inaccuracy =/
I think that a high school's success isn't all based on classroom academics. The successes of extra-curricular activities and competitions should also be accounted for. Additionally, athletics is very important for potential athletes and their college admissions.
I don't go to the country's greatest school, I bet, but I feel that whoever organized this list underestimated the ability of many great high schools.
TOWNSEND HARRIS IN NY
Townsend Harris High School should be much higher than Brooklyn Tech High School. Put Townsend Harris in 45 was definitely wrong. It should be in the TOP 20, if not TOP 10. Hopefully next year's ranking will correct this error!
International school FTW
I believe International School really did deserve that position.
Here at International, we strive to defeat the school district, who try to make us into all the other schools. Our curriculum is unique and above standards, our community strengthened by the small size of our school and by our teachers. Although our school is small and not too big on sports, our education is excellent.
Because we are a middle and highschool, a student who starts out in sixth grade is stuck with nearly the same class for seven years. We create tighter bonds, and eventually, by senior year, we have friends that will last a life time.
That is what makes International School unique and worthy of its position. Its community, its teachers, its students, everything.

im going to oxford its rated #4 good thing they dont have spelling cuz i cant spell acadomy...lol

Before making comments on how good a school is, I think it would be wise to show how well you did in Grammar!
