Obama should ask Patreus how to win this WAR then follow his advice.

Democrats said Patreus "Betrayed Us" and hated him back when he worked for Bush and testified before Congress that the Surge worked in Iraq. But now that he's working for Obama he's the liberal Democrats favorite general and they're asking him for his advice on everything, especially supporting Obama's decisions to close Gitmo and stop agressive interogation techniques. Far left liberal Democrats only want to push thier liberal social agenda forward and cannot be trusted to defend America against Al Qaeda terrorists. The only language Al Qaeda understands is brute force and military strength. Terrorists cannot be negotiated with they must be stopped by any means possible. This is WAR. Since the Democrats are now inclined to follow Patreus' advice Obama should ask him to how to win this War and then follow his advice.

Obama is right on this point

I am a military Officer who served in Afghanistan and can tell you first hand that the Taliban and Al Qaeda are skilled manipulators of public opinion and often use Guantanamo as evidence of America's moral bankruptcy and hypocrisy. Of course, they embellished what really happens there, but the real truth is ugly enough. Locked up indefinitely without trial. How would you like to be one of the poor souls who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Why give the terrorists talking points? Secondly, over-reacting to terrorism in a knee jerk fashion can serve as a cure that is worse than the disease. Your odds of dying in a terrorist attack are much lower than dying in a car crash or name almost any other risk out there. Spending Trillions and creating entire new agencies to deal with these low risk threats has driven us closer to the brink of insolvency and has not really made us any safer. Every measure taken has been to prevent the last attack. Locks on cockpit doors, good measure. Taking off our shoes at the airport, I'm not completely sold on that one. How carefully are those TSA guys looking at my shoes in the scanner after weeks, months, years of looking at digital images? You get the point. Bottom line: crazy people with a political ax to grind will sometimes commit random acts of violence. Thankfully, their ambitions almost always vastly overshadow their capabilities.

I am sick and tired of the excuse that using enhanced interrogation against TERRORISTS "serves as a recruitment tool for terrorists, and increase the will of our enemies to fight us". There is absolutely no proof anywhere to back that up. The most recent example? The terrorists just arrested this past week in NYC. Did any one of them mention anything about enhanced interrogation being the reason they were once again trying to set off bombs? Um, NO. They hate us because they hate our way of life. Those particular terrorists hate us because we accept Jewish people or some such non-sense. Taliban and al Qaeda hate us because we do not believe like them. THEIR HATE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ENHANCED INTERRIGATION TACTICS. They hated us long before that.

Finally, I would just like to point out that EVERY SINGLE President, since the first President, has inherited what the President before has left him. I have NEVER in all my life heard such whining and crying about what is "not my fault". Geez Obama, you wanted the job. Either do it without crying or leave the office for someone who can handle it.

Democrats, far leftists and all-out moonbats don't even consider Al Qaeda to be the enemy. From Harry Reid and Michael Moore to Ron Paul and Jesse Ventura, it's all Bush/Cheney.

THAT right there is a problem before anything else. So Bin Laden's not baiting anyone into anything. I might suggest that AQ, the Taliban, and so on know that there's considerable support for their "freedom fighting" over here even before anything else (we didn't know how far it spread, like to the US Snooze and New York Slimes, but better late than never). Apparently the old guy kept up pretty well with the mortgage crisis two years ago (how did THAT happen?)

But was OBL "baiting us" into a confrontation with each other? After all Slick Willie blamed Rushbo for OKC roughly 20 seconds after it happened so I doubt it.

So Cheney should shut up and let Obama fight the war against these scum, well maybe he would if he thought BTO OPPOSED them.
