Hispanic, Asian Immigration Decline Is a Republican Opportunity--and Danger

By John Aloysius Farrell, Thomas Jefferson Street blog

The Census Bureau report on the slowing growth of the Hispanic and Asian population in the United States should give pause to those critics of immigration reform, who insist that foreigners come here in search of free social welfare programs.

The report confirms statistically what those of us who live in areas of considerable immigration know anecdotally. With the collapse of the US economy, illegal workers are going, or staying, home. According to the AP story, the decline in the Hispanic population was especially notable in places like Nevada and Arizona, where the construction industry has been hard hit by the busted housing bubble, and in the Southeast, which used to lure immigrants to low-skill manufacturing jobs.

In short, immigrants are still coming here, as always, for economic opportunity. In a way that many entitled Americans are not, they are willing to pack up, risk much, travel far and work hard for a job to help their family.

I hesitate to guess what this means politically. But it's a pretty big deal, diversity-wise. The Census Bureau says that the economic downturn has slowed immigration to such an extent that the projected date (about 2042) when white Americans will become a minority may have to be pushed back by a decade.

This will give the anti-immigration wing of the Republican Party more time to get with the McCain-Rove-Bush argument that, in politics, demography is destiny. Or maybe this pause will only lead them further in denial.

Immigration

To theses guys thinking about Latin people, If you think all that Mexican people that come right here to get a better life is stealing this country you are 100% wrong first of all you have stolen Mexican territory to be exact 135 years ago you have never paid for Texas, California, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado, so I wonder who is the real theft, the real criminal no matter what your stupid history tells you about that obviously you have rewrote that at your convenience to make your people believe what you want You Stole that!!! Territory. Second all that people working so hard cleaning public restrooms job sites constructions(Kind of jobs which no one American wants to get because you do not like to get dirty), have to get SS to work in any company, so that way companies do not care if it is fake o real they just take the percent that the government require in taxes and that is it. I wonder where all that money goes? Well it goes to the streets, public schools, war, retirement plan for all those old guys with out 401k, because they do not make tax refund that's mean the money they have remaining it's going toward to their families to feed them so where is all that billions of dollar from taxes held. People coming from México and central America they do not come legally because your American embassy in that countries take about 3 to 5 years to give you a document to come legally to USA, so I wonder one more time would your family wait 3 or 5 years with out food to survive?. Perhaps your answer could be: well it is not our problems all right, but you are getting your nose into issues all over the world where is not your business, why you do not make pressure on Mexican government to stop the illegal migration making them to pay a decent salary, you guys have several companies in Mexico, but they do not pay right price.

So think about that you can investigate by yourselves to see what I am saying it's true.

Stop saying fool thing with out proper information!!!
