Catholic Church Should End Celibacy Rule, Let Rev. Cutie and Other Priests Marry

Celibate Male Power Addiction
I think at its root mandated celibacy is about addiction to power and control. This addiction is causing huge problems within Catholicism, and, like addiction to drugs or alcohol, the addict refuses to discuss it. Any serious discussion about mandated celibacy in the heirarchy is forbidden. Check out my website about this and other problems within the Catholic priesthood. www.leavingthepriesthood.com

Ending Celibacy for Catholic Priests
I've just recently started (2 days ago) a group on Facebook dealing and confronting this important issue. Its called The Liberation of Catholic Priests/Bishops and Catholic Children.
I truly believe that if these men were allowed to be married and pursue NORMAL relationships, the systemic abuse of Catholic children would be greatly reduced.
Once again (2 days ago) a Catholic priest, Bishop Lahey was arrested for importing and carrying a laptop full of child pornography at an airport in Nova Scotia. This person (until the arrest) was an emissary of the Vatican to advocate for the survivors of child sexual abuse. He helped the Church pay $15 million of compensation to the survivors from Nova Scotia alone, and now has been caught for being a deviant in his own right.
Not for a moment do I think an end to celibacy means and end to child abuse. But I believe it could be greatly reduced by changing this archaic 'law'. And if ending this ONE 'law' saves ONE child from being sexually abused, I think its well worth it and anyone who thinks differently is thinking wrongly.
The Law of Celibacy was implemented in 1170AD. Any armchair historian knows that this 'law' was established to prevent married priests from leaving property, money, material wealth etc, to their respective families as inheritances. The Church realized if they forced their clergy into celibacy, they would be able to keep ALL of these mens worldly possessions and thus substantially increasing the Church's wealth. Many other reason's are given for the purpose of celibacy, but none are as important and pertinent as the retention of finances, pure and simple.
What Im looking for is more members and more guidance in this quest. If you can help me with this very important matter, I would extremely grateful and very appreciative.
Sincerely, Cryss Gable

Catholic exodus
I extend my sincere best wishes to Father Cutie and hope he is happy with the Episcolpalian church.
My late parents were devout as they could be ,saw as a result of their close participation and involement with their parish and rectory, many good, religious men leave the priesthood .These men who had a primary desire to serve God and his flock could not resist their powerful secondary desire for family and an intimate interpersonal relationship with a woman. They weren't allowed to have both. We Catholics lost clergy , but these honest clergy did not loose flocks, they moved to serve christians elsewhere and we end up with a shortage of clergy. If we would allow priests to marry we would not loose commitment from them but likely gain his wife who would usually join his vocation in partnership .Don't tell me about the cost. I would rather spend my tithe on my pastors family than on the defense lawyers fund and civil settlements .If we had married clergy with wives and children , child sexual abuse would not be tolerated and the Catholic priesthood would no longer be a place to hide and shelter an extrordinary high population of child abusers. It might intice me to stay and raise my children Catholic, and resist my temptation to join the lovely Presbyterian community across the street
