'Outrage' Film Is Gay-Bashing in the Name of Gay Rights

The movie is not a success
I feel somewhat tainted after watching this film this afternoon. Most of the gay investigators in the movie are sleazy journalists in a mantle of selfrighteousness and the politicians come across as more serious, adult people, especially the charming Governor of Florida -- who did seem to be in love with his new wife.
Tolerance and Hypocrisy
If you are a public figure who legislates on behalf of your constituents AND you go around telling others how to live their lives; telling them that they are living wrong and that you are an example of how they should live and that your constituents should vote for you because you live that example - then you should live that example. And if you don't, consistently, you are a not only a hypocrite and a liar but you are a manipulator who lies about who you are to gain power and stature and your manipulation should be exposed to your victims.
Outrage
The writer missed the point of the movie. Targeted were politicians who publicly were anti gay. They were wanting to establish policies that would hurt gay people all the while indulging in gay activities. If those same people supported gays or at least did no harm to gays, then they wouldn't be targeted. You see, they targeted gays so gays targeted back. Oh wait, the writer understood that, he just doesn't like gays. Oops, sorry, I understand now. Thanks.
Funny that 12,000 gays have been kicked out of the military. More than 4,000 felons were accepted, a GED or HSD was waived and the max age for private raised to 40. So armed felons are now serving next to American sons and daughters. A couple of weeks ago, one of those felons murdered an entire Iraqi family and then raped and murdered their 12 year old daughter. Now the locals hate Americans. No gay would have done this. Americans are more afraid of gays than of the terrorists.
Watch the movie before you comment, Farrell!
'nough said.
"You got served" mentality
Seems the mindset of the film maker is that of an angry guest on Jerry Springer. "Look at you, you F----t!" And who says a person has to publicly embrace, endorse and promote every action they themselves commit?
The film is a thinly disguised attempt to rationalize a lot of misguided hate toward those who they, the so-called open-minded liberals, can't tolerate. Typical hypocritical intolerance from those who think that's what they're all about.
Pathetic.
Hypocrisy?
I'm a little confused when a commentator elucidates at length over a review of a film that he read and hasn't seen. Not only has he avoided seeing 'Outrage', he's obviously avoided seeing films like 'Wag the Dog'.
Commentating on the comments you read in a review is a poor excuse for an opinion, let alone journalistic integrity. It insults your readers intelligence and is no better than unmitigated hearsay in any court of law. Do you actually get paid to do this?
My old friend Ed Murrow gives you an 'F' for not researching your topic. Rona Barret, however, is thrilled beyond measure.
Two wrongs don't make a right, darling. Either your slip is showing or your show is slipping.
Should you actually deign to see the film in question - you'd chuckle at the delicious irony and hypocrisy of the subjects of the film and your latest commentary. Do your homework - your professional voice depends on it.
What a rich wonderful world. indeed!
sickness
I thought that GOD destroyed a couple of cities for this sex craved sickness And you know what I belive he did. And now you want me to belive it`s ok to be gay and our schools are full of gay teachers teaching our children it`s ok. I am outraged and sick of it
GOD`s GONNA GET YOU FOR THAT
Outing officials
As a gay white man who has known his sexuality all his life and has lived for many years a closeted lifestyle when i was active duty military minding my own business doing my job, being professional and as genuine an real as the military would allow me to be, I will be the first person to stand up and defend the right of officials to their privacy.
That is NOT the issue that OUTRAGE depicts contrary to your erroneous assertion otherwise.
Gone are the days of the OUTRAGEOUS activities of ACTUP where they indiscriminately tortured hundreds of people by exposing the closet all fo the sake of advancing HIV awareness and funding. Their motive was good, but their tactis were thoughtless and indiscriminate.
The effort before us today with OUTRAGE, has to do with Hypocrisy jsut as Congressman Frank has suggested.
You can't expect to bash an entire class of people into a second rate citizenry as a public demonstration of your elected position and yet in the secrecy of the closet, live out your subverted desires that you so grotesquely badger in public.
OUTRAGE merely targets those members who's voting records and professional conduct epitomizes the oppression of an honorable class of people.
Let's not play games with semantics here and gloss over the core truths that we are dealing with
Bemoan away...
Bemoan the phenomenon of outing all you want, but it's not going to go away. And there's nothing those opposed to it can do about it.
Out the bastards!
The closeted are running scared?
I believe one should think about the consequences of his actions. These politicians have sex with guys. That's all there is. It doesn't mean they are gay. It doesn't mean they support gay rights. It means they have sex with somebody and not want it revealed. In this day and age, that's quite impossible.
Then there are some of us utilitarians, who likes to tell it like it is, regardless of right or wrong.
