At 71,
He sees it as his last chance to make a final notation on his life and accomplishments to complete the inscriptions on his tomb he has prepared for himself.
Interesting, pathethic maybe, but in that light understandable.
IF BURRIS...
had a shred of character, pride in himself, or a sense of duty and history, he would have spat in Blago's face.
Instead he groveled and slavered like Renfield to Blago's Dracula.
I guess he is perfect senatorial material after all...
