Palin is no conservative

Sarah Palin is indicative of just how nutty the entire GOP has become.

Palin, like most modern Republicans, is not a Goldwater-esque conservative. She is closer to an evangelical dominionist -- out to set up the U.S. government as an instrument of "God's dominion" on Earth. Those folks compete for attention in the Republican Party with devotees of Ayn Rand's objectivist movement -- which is an ideology so radical that its followers are opposed to outlawing child labor.

Compared to the right wing of today, the Goldwater conservatives of years past were pretty darned tame -- and sane. I sure wish conservatives would make a come-back to replace the radicals who have taken over the GOP.

to Gary of OH

While you think your questions to be clever, you reveal ignorance on your own behelf. Although I cannot address each question, here are a couple of things to help answer 7 out of 9:

Your quesion: Ask Gov. Palin about the details surrounding her Pentecostal faith and to clarify why she stands on altars with witch doctors. --- Well Gary, Pentecostals do not believe in "witch doctors." They are Christian Protestants, similar to Lutherans, Unitarians, Baptists, Epsicopals, etc.

Your question: Ask her if she believes that being gay can be cured through prayer. -- Palin's view, as she told us in her debate with Biden is that she recognizes gay civil union, but not marriage because her religion teaches her that a church-recognized marriage can only occur between a man and a woman. Joe Biden agreed.

Your question: Ask her to release her husband Todd's divorce papers. -- Why is that our business? Would you make public every crisis in your relationships?

Your question: Ask to see the medical records from when Trig was born. -- Where are you going with this? Are you suggesting he is from aliens?

Your question: Ask her about her numerous lies, from the bogus Bridge to Nowhere claim and the bogus Sudan divestment claim to the bogus claim about selling her private jet on ebay. -- These are not "bogus" as any amount of research will reveal.

Your question: Ask her why "family values" don't work in her own family. -- Anyone can tell what a close knit family they are by how they interract with each other. The fact that her daughter had pre-marital sex is a mistake many teenagers make. (Did you?) And, speaking as a parent, no matter how attentive we are to teaching our children right from wrong they are bound to make mistakes. The real showing of "family values" is how you help them DEAL with those mistakes, which Palin has done a fine job with.

Your question: Ask her how she can possibly stand up for women's rights when she's so vehemently opposed to a core women's issue—of choice. -- Your statement is sexist. Of course not all women believe in pro-choice! And, f.y.i, an embryo is formed by a woman AND A MAN! Therefore, BOTH men and women need to decide for themselves which side to take. Often the decision (as it seems in Palin's case) comes from a sense of family values and a Christian belief system.

Farrells comments

Mr.Farrell aparently went to some type of college I would assume. The first thing I would like him to do is explain his definition of Socialism? The second thing is why he believes in a man that believes this country fails at everything and supports our enemies? Third: Perhaps Mr. Farrell can explian something in the creation of human DNA. It takes a left handed and a right handed protien to complete the creation. Scientists have been creating left and right handed proteins for years butthey can only create the seperately. They have discovered that in order to make left and right at the same time, they need a left handed to make a right handed and a right handed to make a left handed at the same time. So scientfically which came first the Chicken or the egg. I am sure there is a plausible explanation that Mr. Farrell cam give.

Farrells comments on Socialism

Seeing as how Mr. Farrell is obviously schooled in all sorts of things, perhaps he could describe what his definition of Socialism is so we all know?

Sara Palin's Nutty Creationism

I tthink that Sara Paulin's idea of teacing creationism in the schools is a great idea. What seems to be the problem? I have'nt ever ran into an atheist evolution yet that had any brains. You can't even get your dates right when you claim to have found some fossil. I guess your ideas are the only right ideas. So if someone has a different idea than yours or opposes what you believe just shut them up or try to discredit them. If you're really secure in what you believe then it would'nt matter who taught what. Are you afraid that you will be exposed for all the lies you folks have pertuated over the years. Evolution used to be theory but now you present it as truth whent it is nothing but lies. Leave the woman alone. Quit sneaking around like a bunch of snakes. She has just as much right to say what she believes as you do.

She Took an Oath...

"But a Vice President, in accepting the office, is bound to upholding the Constitution. If she cannot, in good conscience do that, then she cannot accept the office."

The oath of office for governor of Alaska is pretty much the same as federal employees...Support and defend.

creationism

To say creationism is a reality is to say that there is no oil, that dinosaurs did not exhist and there was a hole in the sky 6,000 years ago where the Earth sits today. There is no argument for such foolishness. Those who wrote the bible were ancients and not scientifically advanced in a mechanized, scientific world. They can be forgiven and their points are more often sound taken as parables than as fact. Sarah Palin is missing out on history, 50,000 years of mankind's history alone, to say nothing of the several billion years since the earth became a planet.

Mr Farrell,Gary of Oh and Alexandra of Co

Mr farrell you are a dumb a--,are you that afraid of your own question's about life that you have to belittle another's faith or is it? that if you don't your liberal friends won't let you come over and play if they knew you some kind've faith. Gary you spend to much time in momma's basement get out and see that Senator Obama has not been asked and by chance he is dismiss's it with oh' i didn't know.. anyone that hase attended a church on any regular level will tell you that Obama is not telling the truth, hell go to your local bar on a regular basis over 20yrs and I bet you would know the bartender's opionon's on stuff.. as for you Alexandra, so me where seperation of church and state is in the constitution you can't cause it isn't in it, this phrase came about from some of the founding father's letter's and writing's and was not their worry church would be involved with goverment it was their fear that just like in England the goverment would be involved with and control the church, in effect telling the person how the can believe and worship, so maybe you all should pick up a history book and read it before you open up your mouth and prove what a fool you are. my suggested reading for you all would be the bible, online artical( 5 atheist scientist try to disprove God, and reveal finding's that big bang cpuld not of caused life) and all books dealing with the creation of the united states..

If creationism is taught in schools, how much time would be given to the creation "stories" present in other religions. You know Hinduism and all those other pesky religions that believe that Earth was created by differnt Gods than the one in the Christian Bible. Maybe the Christian version of creationism would sound different when presented with the hundreds of other creation versiosn contained in the religions of the world. And lets not forget all the religions that died out- like the ancient Egyptians or the Romans. There are creationist "stories' there too. Would Gov. Palin enjoy her children being taught that the world was created by a giant crocodile or a blue elephant??

I want to hear Sarah Palin Speak!

I say open the flood gates and let her speak so the McCain/Palin ticket can grab the lead in the polls.

My vote has already been cast to the McCain ticket, but it isn't too late for the undecided.

I relate to Sarah Palin - hardworking mother who has had such intensity and judgment these past months yet she continues to hold her head high and manages to laugh at herself on SNL.

Shame on you America for crucifying anyone who steps up and puts their name down in order to lead this great country of ours. Running for office shouldn't be equivalent to committing suicide.
