wow David...WoW

First off, you are by far the best example of the ignorance running around in this country. I looked at your location being Texas and right away figured it out the reason for this weird mentality of yours.

Obama lived in Indonesia for 4 years and went to a regular school. Look up photos of him from the school days. His father was a muslim by name only and never practiced along with the fact that Obama only met him once in his life.

The mobile weapons were moved out of Iraq. hmm.. very interesting theory but just exactly where were they moved to. Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Syria?? If they were moved and were so dangerous that we started a war over them, why aren't we trying to locate them now.

I request you to gather all your energy and stand up really fast so you can get your head out of your behind.

oh my god

you people have blinders on.

Obama's gonna raise taxes on the wealthy huh.. well does he realize the top 1% of earners already pay 41% of the taxes? That the top 10% pay 68% of taxes? How much more can you take from these people who own businesses and create job opportunities..? And we're going to take more from these people and give to.. the people who don't pay income taxes to begin with (40% of americans dont pay income taxes because they are below the income threshold).. so we're going to give the poor a check at the expense of the people who drive our economy forward.

Does that sound equitable?

I dont want to pay for health care for other people or be punished if I become successful. I certainly don't want to negotiate with Iran. I hope we drill in ANWR so we can cut dependence on foreign oil somewhat. The rest of the world is under no illusion about the need for energy we need to get our heads out of our asses and wake up.

Bias really gets around.

I never thought that US News and World Report would become as biased for Obama as the NY Times, Newsweek, Time, etc., et.al. How disappointing. I disagree with Powell. He knows better. The Muslim world is very seriously biased against anyone not of their faith and beliefs. Bias is a human condition; one that is necessary for survival. It has been in-born in us since humans first crawled out of the caves. Live with it.

Obama wil gut defense spending and unilaterally disarm

Powell needs to watch this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o84PE871BE) and reconsider. In this video, Obama, in his own words, is basically saying that he will slash defense spending by "tens of billions of dollars" by canceling missile defense systems that "don't work", delaying new combat systems, and ending the war in Iraq. He goes on to talk about unilateral nuclear disarmament. These dangerous times are no time to be weak on defense. The size of the army was drastically reduced under Clinton, and that is hurting us, now. We urgently need a defense against the potential blackmail threat of missiles, with both Iran and North Korea developing ever-longer-range missiles as well as nuclear weapons. Wake up, people! Obama will be a disaster for our military and our national defense!

unchristian religious and racist bias

For the Christian borthers and sisters who missed the point of what Jesus said -that there is no more jews nor greek, nor muslim nor gentiles....when they believe in Christ he is a new creature, they become one in Christ. Who are we to judge on people because of who they were before? Are we not all sinners before, and maybe even now? Let us stop this kind of unchristian way of political mess up with our faith. Do not use religious bias for political interest nor use political interest to put forward religious bias. Let us have faith in God. He knows what is better for all of us. He will never fail us. He is in command. He knows that good people does not deserve bad president or bad leader. It is our faith in God that we elect the leader, not faith in the leader.

Fortunately, I was able to watch this past Sunday's Meet The Press interview of Gen Colin Powell by Tom Brokaw.

I thought one of the most important comments Gen Powell made was his remarks about all those naive allegations about Obama being Muslim.

This is a belief and sentiment being echoed all over this country, especially in areas where plain folks are just so ignorant of the truth.

But even if Obama is Muslim, is there something wrong with that??? I thought that was brilliant, and I thought that said it all.

Very well done, Gen Powell. I have always had the highest regard for you and your work for this country, and once again, you have proven yourself to be true patriot.

Where's the decency?

I guess people like David Lee still doesn't get it. Maybe that explains why the McCain campaign has a hard time registering with mainstream voters. Too bad.

It's a fact

George Bush happens to be a Christian and it could certainly be argued that he's done more harm to our country that any other single person in history. Just pointing out that you should not focus on a person's religion in an attempt to ascertain whether the person would be a good president. I am so glad that someone of Colin Powell's statutre finally had the guts to stand up for the patriotic Muslim Americans against the smears and bigotry coming from the right wing of the Republican party.

Give me a break!!!!!!

Remember it was Obama's campaign that didn't want any muslim women in their photo and asked them to move. Would Obama have apologized if he wasn't shamed into it? I doubt it. Why is Colin Powell all over the republicans for their questions about Obama's religion rather than looking at Barack Obama's answer. If he thinks he has such great leadership qualities, why didn't Obama address the issue in his response to the critism? Obama had numerous opportunities to make that point, a good leader would have made use of those opportunities. Obama says and does whatever his audience wants to hear and see. Who knows who he really is... If John McCain loses it's because he's honest and has the courage and integrity to say what he believes regardless of who his audience is or what the consequences are.

- Obama can't disown paster- disowns him three days later

- Pledges not to accept private campaign donations- renegs

- says he's for uniting the races- attends a church for 20 years that believes in black liberation theology

- tells Californians that people in PA cling to their guns & religion

- politically active in Chicago- claims he didn't know Ayers was a domestic terrorist

I'd vote for Reverend Wright before I'd vote for Obama. At least you know where he stands.
