An Obama Vote Is No Sin for Catholics, Even With His Abortion Views

I'm a very strong Roman Catholic, who goes to church every Sunday and follows the church's practices and I agree with you 100%. There are more issues out there besides abortion. If you take a look around, what's causing the unwanted pregnancies? Our economy and poor education system. That is what Obama wants to focus on and that's why I voted for him. John McCain has overlooked this during his campaign. President Bush is Pro-Life and has Roe vs. Wade been overturned? NO! How can I, someone who wants to help the poor, support a party that makes the rich richer?

Farrell's article

Well, I'm glad Mr.Farrell is not teaching religious education to my kids. Its kind of a no-brainer, Mr. Farrell, to vote pro-life when you are a Catholic. To say that Catholics should vote pro-abortion to end abortion makes about as much sense as Jesus being accused of casting out demons through the power of Beezubul, the ruler of the demons in Matthew 12:22-28. Mr Farrell, the real problem here is that you are ignorant of your faith, and do not have the courage to stand up against evil in this world. You would rather be a moral relavist. Though you are not asking for my advise, I suggest that you start taking your faith seriously, learn it and stop misleading others into error..."My people are perishing for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4 1-6).

Are you a Catholic

Hello,

Are you a Catholic? If so, when were you given the authority to speak for the Catholic church on faith and morals?

It is a sin to vote for a pro abortion candidate

A vote for a pro abortion candidate, when you have the choice to vote for a pro life candidate, is a sin. It is a sin because you would be promoting and supporting someone who is supporting the intrinsically evil act of aboortion. How difficult is that for you to understand? Keep in mind that it is also a sin to mislead souls into committing a sin. My family and I will be praying for your conversion to the faith.

Prolife affirmation

So much political "dialog" is nothing more than two persons with opposing views repeating their own views over and over. So, I appreciate it when a prolife Catholic is willing to look over the fence and talk with Abortion rights people.

The point Mr. Farrell makes in this true dialog is that cooperative efforts among those of us who have opposing views will make a very significant dent in the frequency of abortion which is a direction that very few folk can disparage.

Thank you.

cafeteria catholic?

Show me a catholic that isn't a "cafeteria catholic".

You are so wrong.

Read the Catholic position again. Voting for a pro abortion candidate is a sin. The Bishops do not use clear language but you distort their words to suit yourself.

Catholics are NOT for pro-life?

The writer would have you think that life is a light issue. If he was aborted, he would not think so; and one less foolish confusion on the web.

Are Catholics for abortion? The write seems to push it aside a a light matter.

Are Catholics still Catholics when they are in the voting booth?

The writer would have you think not. I disagree! A Catholic should stand for his convictions on matters of life and death. He/she should be a Catholic at home, at church, at work, and yes, even at the voting booth.

IF you are not a Catholic at the voting booth, then what makes you think you are a Catholic at any other time?

Do not cast your convictions aside.

Vote WITH conviction!

Us News

The Us News should not pretend to be teachers of the Catholic Church. This article should never have been printed. It was his opinion which isn't true. To tell the Church how it should teach it's people is wrong.

Would you Muslim how to interpret the quaran?

Deceitful

bishop farrel

Wow. What an arrogant untruthful article. I'm glad you cleared up for us that 50 Catholic Bishops are all wrong. They have told us clearly that abortion is an intrinsic evil and we must not vote for someone who is pro abortion. You are spreading lies. This is not only about Roe vs. Wade. I saw Obama say the first bill he will sign into law is “The freedom of Choice Act” which will take away all state rights at limiting any abortion including partial birth abortion. It kind of sounded like you think you're Catholic in some regard. Not. You my friend are a heretic and are in a state of apostasy. Seeing the unbelievable blindness of the erring Catholics this year shows us why God has so much to say against pride (in case since you‘re a heretic pride is the choosing of your erroneous truth to trying to live by real Truth which is Gods). PS The CCC and all the Popes have written about this and they TRUMP Kmeic's self righteous error.
