The Republican Party, McCain, and Palin Need a Timeout

"A timeout could well put the GOP at risk of going the way of the Whig party"

Less than four years ago, the Democratic Party was in the exact same position the Republicans are now. The Republicans controlled every branch of the Federal Government, had a majority of Governorships and also had a majority of state legislatures. Yet no one seemed to be claiming the Democrats could be going the way of the Whigs. All it takes is one bad presidency to turn everything around. This administration proved that. If Barack Obama ends up being the 21st century's Jimmy Carter, the Democrats will be in serious trouble just like the Republicans are now.

Baloney

The sentence trying to implicitly lay the blame for 9/11 on the Republican Party is absolute and total nonsense. Who was more asleep at the switch, a Clinton administration that ignored Bin Laden for eight years or a Bush Administration that had not even been in power for eight months? The Bush administration has been pretty awful, but claiming they share more of the blame than the Clinton administration for 9/11 is just plain ridiculous.

Republican vs Democratic responses

Have you noticed that, overall, when a republican responds to questions about who will win the election, it's a response of fear, loathing, "your world as you know it will end", "what about us" kind of response? But when a democratic, (and of course, this is a generalization, but by no means a gross one) is one of a more logical, "what about our nation", "how about the poor, uneducated", "we can do this" kind of response?

We are at a pivotal, critical juncture as a nation. Irrational, fear-mongering, "oh my God, what if 'they' get into power" kind of thought and action is irresponsible. We need to think about what is truly best for our nation, and since we claim to be the leaders of it, our world. How could anybody rationalize that more of the republican machine, especially those that have been chosen to lead it, could bring anything good, even if you are a republican? Do you think that McCain and Palin are merely "acting" right now in order to get elected, but they will snap out if it, make sane, responsible decisions if they got elected? They'd just be more drunken on whatever they're embibing to have gotten away with all this mess.

It's no different than knowing that your brother is not the best guy to run an operation in your company, even though he is your brother. Your brother (republican) you will always have. Your company (country), without the right decisions, you will not.

What a delusion. Ha,Ha. The only place this Nation is going is to hell in a basket.

sarah torrey,

you suck so bad. i agree i agrreeee

Just a little humor

John McCain shaking his head, defends Obama at his town hall meeting,"Don't you people understand, the question that he's a Muslim was supposed to go through your minds but not come out of your mouths!"

Keep voting for the Republicans you dumb yanks...while your country is collapsing like the British Empire. You're so dumb you don't even realise it. Every time I read another Repulican saying how great the Republicans have made American I have another giggle. Six pack Joe clearly isn't a six pack stomach but rather has no brains from having a six pack of beer. Keep voting that way, continue wrecking your country, continue pretending that it's not your fault...when it is...

Republican timeout

Why does the GOP want to be in power? Well, lobbyists will tend to ignore one party if the other is stronger in the majority. Loss of that kind of monetary support will weaken the party. Democrats could gain in the statehouse races across the country. They might follow the example of Tom DeLay and gerrymander districts to further weaken the GOP. Without strong GOP leaders, the party might fracture as the various members of the coalition recriminate against each other, and put the party at risk of splintering. A timeout could well put the GOP at risk of going the way of the Whig party.

Maverick Pitbulls = Hypocrite

What's the difference between a lipstick wearing Maverick pitbull and a hypocrite? NO DIFFERENCE! It's the same exact thing!

After her week of her vile, character assasinations on Obama, she is found to be guilty of abusing her power as governor. What poetic justice! Now Gov. Palin, stop throwing stones from your very fragile "glass house"!

America... Watch out!

It is amazing to me to read these blogs and think there are people so blind to their own agendas that they fail to see the danger we are in. You won't see the pitfall until it is too late and you finally realize the true trouble you will be in having this man, Obama, as your President. I have a deep, deep sense of foreboding and danger... and I am a Democrat. But, I don't trust this man. He is not who he seems. And as much as I want to like Michelle, I am clearly reminded of three things, 1) that she had made the statement early on about "this is the first time she was proud to be an American" so what was she before? 2) if she is Barrack's advisor as he has so often said she was, then, she is just as much "in the know" of his political agenda as he is. Therefore, she is just a culpable. 3) She is just as involved with the affairs of her husband, and is prepared to help him strategize to meet his goals. Ordinarily, a worthy goal... but this man who says he has nothing to hide, doesn't answer questions or explain his true associations, nor talk about the voter fraud being done and act to correct it. Instead, he allows it to continue and doesn't call for reform or anything because he knows, it benefits him not to do so... to let it continue in his favor. He is okay with winning by hook or crook.

If Obama was being truthful, he wouldn't be on the McCain attack, he would just admit his associations and his money distributions. Obama hasn't done that... because he knows neither his alliances nor his use of funds or receipt of campaign funds, will stand up under the scrutiny of light. No, instead, he'll just turn his misdeeds and misjudgements back to McCain as he smooth-talks his way out of yet another effort to get the American people to wake up. But maybe, it is as we deserve. Obama is being funded by outside of the U.S. sources... you can guess who... and you can bet they will want your soul in return.

America, you better be on your knees and praying, because the times ahead are not for the faint hearted. America as we have known it, is about to change... and not for the better. You will have lost your power and your international status all in one election and one huge market crisis. America, do you think it not a strange coincidence that one day everything is business as usual, and the next day the market is collapsing, thus plunging the world into financial collapse as well? No, there is more behind this financial ruin than meets the eye...
