Ayers diversion, Mansour diversion
No candidate has "close ties with Bill Ayers -- if by "close" you mean something like the distance between McCain and Charles Keating. You are wrong to say Obama has not answered this charge. Likewise, Obama has flatly denied having any association with al Mansour.
I suppose the proof will be coming out any day now, right?
The premise is wrong.
The problem I have is if we take the blue pill... do we want our next president to be someone who has close ties with an unrepentant terrorist named Bill Ayers, who even kicked off his political career in Ayers home, and whose Ivy League college education was financed by a radical Muslim named Dr. Khalid al Mansour. Wonder what kind of trip the blue pill will take us on?
Obama has not answered for his assosiations and 'Truth speaker' will not either.
To David of FL
The debacle caused by 8 years of the Bush presidency is evidence of where the red pill will take us. Unproven innuendo about Barak Obama is all the right have to defend the the serial lying duo. We don't need 4 more years is dishonesty in the White House. ENOUGH.
Tactics of diversion
It's not hard to see why the blizzard of lies and ridiculous claims of pigs and lipstick flow from the ranting right, along with the ludicrous conspiracy theories from their wingnut fans.
It's the economy. Over the last half century, the US economy has performed better during Democratic administrations compared with Republican (see "Economic Report of the President" at gpoaccess dot gov or Kinsley's take on the report on today's Slate dot com).
No one who can think clearly can be pleased that half of the voting public is prepared to put a clueless politician like McCain in place to continue downward spiral we're in.
Wow
In nearly 1000 words you were able to come up with a grand total of 1 (one) McCain "lie." I'm still trying to work out how buying a tanning bed is a "lie." If that is a "lie" what is buying a million dollar (plus) mansion with the help of a now covicted felon? Gee, that doesn't seem to be a "lie" either. But still, you have a problem with the tanning bed, but not the mansion.
Oh, here's a "scoop" for you as well. Lots of people who claim to be "regular Americans" buy boats that cost as much as $35,000. Lets go call them all frauds too.
Absolute Truth
The thing about Absolute Truth is, you have to accept it exists, and can be discovered, before you can find it...It does, in fact, exist, but most folks and darn near all politicians, haven't a clue. Life is indeed meaningless without it.
Truth or Smear
Mut disagree with Farrell's premise. The premise of Mr. Farrell's piece is that McCain's definiton of truth is wrong therefore Obama's view on truth must be right. That is a strawman approach to any argument and a ridiculously two-dimensional one at that.
Another problem with this article is that it's main argument is based on what Cheney said and did not directly address anything McCain said. On top of that he throws in some smear about Palin and then finally ending with a chooice between the good Obama and the bad McCain. This what not a serious article it was probably written to fill a quota at U.S.News...

Truth or Farrell
Well, I'd believe you except that there was a blurb about the 500 tons of yellowcake (i.e. highly enriched uranium) shipped quietly from Iraq last summer. Now, unless I'm gravely mistaken, they don't make IED's out of yellowcake. That stands as a supporting circumstance that would make Cheney's statement at least a plausible notion on the face.
Recently someone remarked that the Bush administration has at least as much sense as the common housecat dealing with a mouse. You don't discuss the mouse, you don't sanction the mouse, you don't negotiate with the mouse. You instinctively pounce, overpower, and kill the mouse.
In the above scenario, the only thing the Bush administration did wrong was to send the Army into Iraq instead of the B-52's over Iraqi airspace. Since American lives are all we're concerned about, carpet bombing every square inch of that hellhole (I've been there, so I can say that) would have taken care of the job nicely.
I think you're the one out of touch with reality Mr. Farrell...
