Consider the situation

Ever consider that maybe its a good thing he used so many I's and Me's? He is giving a speech generically about how he will be a better president than obama. We need to know about him, and he sounds stupid if he starts referring to himself in the third person... so first person nomenclature is the better way to go. maybe thats why many people know so little about obama...? Inexperience at work

Comparing

Comparing Obama to McCain is just like comparing a young dung beetle to an old one. Both deliver the same, one just may be capable of handling a bigger ball of it.

Who does he claim to be?

I heard McCain say something to the effect, "You / or they will see that I was the one who was, and who is, and who is to come."? It was during what seemed to be just a visit somewhere, and it was relatively insignificant in its coverage. But, I heard this and thought, "whoa". But I was not in a place to rewind it...so it slipped into obscurity. Unless someone has a way of digging it up. I think it was in July. He was outdoors.

McCain Speech: I, Me, Mine

We are in great perils in a world with an American debt of more than ten trillion, two endless wars and a nearly collapsed wall street and with a main street that can only hope to pay it's bills and keep it’s homes from being foreclosed on.

I watched Senator McCain and my questions remain as to how he is going to help the economy recover, or get more health insurance available to the 47 million uninsured folks, or stop the illegal immigration. He is a genuine hero and his first love is the need for defense, but he needed to assure the nation that the BushCheneyMcCain riff now happening with Russia does not escalate to a new COLD WAR. He failed to address the danger of the national debt and the danger of a new weapons buildup will cause our economy. The WAR mentality I saw all during this convention speaks very loud as to what he intends to do as President. The financing of more debt has to come from somewhere and cutting more corporate taxes will only weaken our defense capabilities. President Reagan is McCain’s hero and his guide on defense, but McCain forgets that the five trillion spent by Reagan for the first COLD WAR is yet to be paid for. McCain supported the “SPEND and BORROW “, policies of Reagan Republicans that we can not continue to afford. We as a nation are being swallowed up by all the debt, both national and personal. At some point the rest of the world will just stop loaning us more money. All one has to do is watch any of the financial news channels to hear the problems that are going to come to ahead and be required to be dealt with under the next administration.

John where is the BEEF? All I saw is more of the same Bush/Cheney on defense, the economy and the future. Governor Palin is only the VP on the ticket not the POTUS her words are just that words that are pleasant to the ear but quickly fade away as the NEOCONS replace reason with fear and logic with spin.

McCain's tax policy is also about "I", "me", and "mine", as he plans to cut taxes mostly for those making more than $250,000 a year. Obama's tax plan actually saves middle class people more money than McCain's. Thus, McCain continues the Bush legacy of cutting taxes for the wealthy.

I Dont Understand

I really do not understand why I have to alaways write in here, since my fingers hurt and I need to take a break from what I am doing so I can figure out why I had to take a break in the first place.

So there I go again , I used the letter I 9 times and it had nothing to do with it being about self centered. Mr Farrell, do actually get paid for this drivel, your brutal, if I was a teacher your grade would be an either an F.

THE LEFT

Your trashing the GOP so much you guys must be really worried, its funny as heck

Republican Convention

Bringing Levi Johnson on-stage sort of made a hero of him. If the McCain Contingent is for making pre-marital sex a part of their reform program, they're off to a nifty start.

Oh dear

I'm not even american, and I don't even care who wins, but I need to chime in.

Use of the first person does not mean that someone is boasting or praising themselves... They're just, speaking in the first person. I use the first person constantly in every day conversation, as does everyone else. I've done it 5 times already, in this comment.

Really. I hope Mr. Farrell doesn't get payed for this stuff.

An opinion on the character of the candidates

I have no direct invested interest in American politics, I think both sides are corrupt. One more than the other, but both definately corrupt.

Obama strikes me as another Tony Blair. Someone that talks well but is ultimately uncovered as having a Christ complex, so in that I think McCains statement hits the mark. While McCain is just your regular self absorbed money grubbing scumbag, Obama really believes he can change the world.

Historically, such idealistic, but hugely narcissistic people are extremely dangerous. Obama is a very dangerous person. However the option on the other side is no less dangerous, but for reasons of incompetence.

Either way, America is going to lose.
