Commenters about President Obama's Faith

We have a christian president, but he is the president regardless of his faith. You people are so out there in hate and viral spite that you obviously are Rush Limbaugh and Fox News fans. Republicans ruined this country during their eight years. They made sure the rich became richer, the middle class shrank and there were more poor. Republican policies gave corporate greed the OK and we ended up with our country going down financially with more job losses and more home foreclosures. Hate all you want. You are in the minority. Most people want our President to succeed and bring America to a better place, but not you who are so evil yourselves. You are the tea baggers, the birthers, the ever declining republican base who are disgusting repulsive people.

President Obama

President Obama is much more obviously a christian than many republican presidents, especially Bush. But also Ronald Reagan. You do not have so many corrupt atheists in your administration the way Bush did and be concerned about christian values. Karl Rove and Dick Cheney are two sorry evil people who were always with Bush. Then there was every sorry hateful stupid and evil thing that Bush did for corporate greed. His war for oil shows how evil the man was. President Obama became a christian when he was in his 20s. His faith is important to him and he does not deserve all the lies about him being Muslim. He is the President and that is what is important. Liars like some of these commenters lost the election. They are clinging to lies and liars while following the worst excuses for republican idiots in history.

Obama is a cock

He is a muslim and he believes that Hassan will get his 'justice' the 40 virgins promised to Islamic followers who die killing the infidels. So Obama is muslim and supports what Hassan did. He even choses his words carefully.

"Divine Judgement"? Obama?

Pehaps a better headline would be, "Obama leaves Hasan's final judgement to God". Of course, some neo-pagans see Obama as God. Saying Obama "uses" Divine judgement is as clumsy and misleading as it is to refer to Jerimiah Wright as "Reverent Wright".

In any event, I'm not impressed with Obama's namby-pamby "don't blame ANY Muslims for this" approach. Yeh. Fine. OK. You can't blame ALL Muslims for Hasan's attack, but just wait! Obama will blame gun owners and the 2nd Amendment for Hasan's sin. He'll even lead the angry, ignorant mob with pitchforks and torches against anyone who dares own a gun. Demonizing groups is what Obama does best. Just don't demonize any group that is dear to his heart!

I Think Outwardly...

Obama identifies himself as a Christian of the Reverend Wright - "Church of What's Happening Now" flock. However, inwardly he is probably more of a "nuanced deist", much like Lincoln in that respect - which is not a necessarily a bad thing.

If he could contain his ego and ambition he would not be much different from most Americans, and would be a much more effective leader.

actually I'm not sure

if the article itself was biased, reading it over again... maybe it isn't but most of these comments seem to be very much so

wow

As a believing Christian I have to say there's a lot of ignorance and hate coming from these comments (and the article) -- from people who should really know better. Jesus told us to love God and love our neighbor, and many of the reactions against Islam from my fellow christians has broken both of those commandments. Have we honestly learned nothing from the centuries of "holy wars", and the human evils of persecution and judgment? Only God can judge us.

The actions of a few misguided individuals should never be used to disparage the beliefs they carry. And who cares if Obama is an "Islamist sympathizer"? Christians shouldn't be blinded by these labels and condemning all Muslims for the actions of just a few. We really need to grow as people of God

Fort Hood and Husssein Obama

I believe that Hussein Obama is a died in the wool "Muslim" and is pretending to be a Christian. He's taking America down a path of destruction and don't want to admit that the shooter at at Fort Hood was a fellow Muslim and also a traitor to his fellow soldiers. It seems to me that thee Koran is a religion of violence and hate as interpreted by the majority of Muslims.

"It Is Written" by ignorant men of prescience era......

It's a mistake to unquestioningly accept religious "declarations, statements, prophecies, proclamations, etc." as if they're worthy of being respected, honored or obeyed. It's disgusting that people of our era still say they believe a male god "created everything in 7 days." That began the argument that "evolution is a lie," etc. It's so obvious that once a person succeeds in fooling people to tithe, because "god dictated revelations to the founder of a new faith," some other trickster will "begin receiving revelations." Judaism began "revelations" that started people paying tithes to rabbis. Then other authors had revelations that let Christianity shift Jewish tithes to priests. Then Mohammed came along with his "revelations from Allah" and tithes shifted to imams. I am very disappointed that Obama is misusing his office to advance religion. He violates his oath to protect the Constitution that expects pubiic officials to respect all citizens, not leave out atheists like myself. It's embarrassing to have him pretend there is "divine judgment after death." His own ties to Islam are emphasized by his reaction to murder committed by convert to Islam.
