Poll: American Skepticism on Israeli Settlements Freeze

As J Street, the Jewish advocacy group that's trying to become the dovish alternative to AIPAC, convenes for its first national conference this week, the Anti-Defamation League has released a poll showing skepticism toward President Obama's call for Israel to freeze its settlements in the Palestinian territories.

Check out this graphic:

Neither the ADL survey report nor the accompanying press release mention the J Street conference, but the study's release seems to be timed to push back on J Street's approach to Mideast peace.

Where's Saudi Peace Plan?

So OK you pretend to be polling me with the Saudi Peace Plan. OK ready? OK off we go. If Israel were to agree with a...

I- Full Israeli withdrawal from all the territories occupied since 1967, including the Syrian Golan Heights, to the June 4, 1967 lines as well as the remaining occupied Lebanese territories in the south of Lebanon.

II- Achievement of a just solution to the Palestinian refugee problem to be agreed upon in accordance with U.N. General Assembly Resolution 194.

III- The acceptance of the establishment of a sovereign independent Palestinian state on the Palestinian territories occupied since June 4, 1967 in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

IN return the Israelis get...

I- Consider the Arab-Israeli conflict ended, and enter into a peace agreement with Israel, and provide security for all the states of the region.

II- Establish normal relations with Israel in the context of this comprehensive peace.

Yes, Whoosiedoo thinks there could be peace.

Q. why was this option not given in the survey? A. AIPAC that's why. They own our MSM, they own our Congress and they own our Senate: They are part owners with the bankers of our President and Sec of State Ms. Clinton. No, there wont be any deal because Israel is too busy taking Palestinian land and is getting all absolutely free.

ADL is a joke! Nothing more than a tool of the Zionists.

This is the Israeli notion of a fair deal: Israel is entitled to do whatever the hell it wants to the Palestinians because, by definition, whatever Israel does to them is self-defense. The Palestinians, however, are not entitled to lift a finger against Israel, by definition, whatever they do is terrorism.

That's the way it's always been, that's the way it was in Operation Cast Lead.

And there are no limits on Israel's right to self-defense. There is no such thing as "disproportionate." Israel can blockade Gaza, can answer Kassams with F-16s and Apaches, and can take 100 eyes for an eye.

Israel can deliberately destroy thousands of Gazan homes, the Gazan parliament, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Interior, courthouses, the only Gazan flour plant, the main poultry farm, a sewage treatment plant, water wells and God knows what else.

Deliberately.

After all, ISrael is acting in self-defense. By definition.

And what right do the Palestinians have to defend themselves against this?

None.

Why? Because Jews are better than them. Because Israel is a democracy and they're a bunch of Islamo-fascists. Because Israel is a culture of life and theirs is a culture of death. Because they're out to destroy us and all Israel is saying is give peace a chance.

One look at the ruins of Gaza ought to make that plain enough.

Gaza is under Israeli control ....still

"First of all, you along with many others conviently forget that Gaza has a border with Egypt, totally outside of Israeli control. Duh....just like Warsaw has that border with England (..it doesn't?, dang).......oops "

OOPS to you....you fully well know that Israel is the occupying authority under international law. Why pass the buck on to the Egyptians....so that when they open the border Israel can claim that Gaza is Palestine and go on to grab the rest of the West Bank.....common partner, Israels rope-a-dope schemes in the Occupying territories are well knowm
