Mike Huckabee Writes Christmas Book

Two weeks before Sarah Palin's memoir hits bookstores next month, possible 2012 presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee is publishing a new volume of his own: A Simple Christmas: Twelve Stories That Celebrate the True Holiday Spirit. Huckabee's already taking presale orders—and orders for leather display boxes and for signed, numbered versions of the book that include certificates of authenticity.

A new Rasmussen poll has Huckabee edging out Mitt Romney in a one-on-one Republican primary.

Huckabee's yuletide TV ad in the 2008 presidential race, above, made him something of a Christmas candidate the last time around. Doing publicity for Simple Christmas will give him an opportunity to connect with voters in a warm and fuzzy and decidedly nonpolitical way, which could help reinforce his likability in a potential matchup against the less cuddly Romney. Very Oprahesque.

Huckabee in 2012

From Boley: "I look forward to the debates between Romney and Huckabee"

Though Romney is a good debater, if you go back and watch the debates for the '08 election, it was Huckabee that did the clock cleanin', not Romney.

It will be much worse for Romney in 2012 (If things don't change, which they will!). Romney supported TARP, Huckabee did not. Romney has Romneycare with its mandatory insurance, Huckabee does not. Huckabee has backed Rubio in Florida, Romney has not.

Look for Romney to move back to the left (again) in the months ahead, in hopes of taking the leftovers (and I do mean LEFTovers) from Huckabee and Palin.

Huckabee would win

If Mike Huckabee runs he has a very good chance of winning.

1) In 2008 Huckabee was an unknown without millions. Huckabee was the only candidate that was not a millionare, and who truly was in touch with the people (he was the only candidate of the Republicans to predict the mess we economy is in today). But, today, Huckabee is now well known and a growing grass roots movement would financially support him if he ran in 2012.

2) Mike Huckabee is both a social and fiscal conservative, and well travelled internationally specially in the Middle East.

3) Huckabee is among the growing new stars of the conservative movement like "Marco Rubio, Bob Vander Plaats, Bob McDonnell, and John Kasich" as Chadballer of ID mentioned.

4) Lastly, Huckabee has imagination a key quality that Mitt Romney did not have inspite of all his millions and the main reason why Huckabee won Iowa and more states than Romney in spite of being out spent sometimes 20 to 1.

The Romney machine should give up. With all that organization and all that money, they couldn't get their man nominated last time because the people understand he is the agent of the discredited Republican establishment. Huckabee campaigns as a Republican but he is a man for all seasons, and could appeal to millions of independents that Romney turns off instantly. Huckabee won't sell out though, so his only chance is that the people rise up and tell the establishment what they can do with their money.
