The Promise and Peril for Obama in Rising Antiabortion Sentiment

A new Pew survey showing a marked uptick in the nation's antiabortion sentiment means trouble for a pro-abortion-rights president, right? Well, it certainly could. But as I explain in my latest U.S. News Weekly God & Country column, the survey also suggests that Obama has a major opportunity to reassure Americans who are anxious about his abortion position.

Here's the crux:

While supporters of legal abortion outnumbered abortion rights opponents by 54 percent to 40 percent as recently as last year, the new survey finds that Americans are now evenly split on the issue. Most Democrats now say they'd like to reduce the number of abortions, while conservatives have grown even more intensely antiabortion. "This is a really unusual shift," says Gregory Smith, a senior Pew researcher who helped author the survey report, released last week. "I'm struck by the large number of groups that have moved on the issue: men and women, whites and Hispanics, those with college degrees and those with none. It's a broad movement."

And it presents a challenge for Obama and his party. The Pew survey suggests that the country is growing nervous that Democrats will overreach on abortion rights. The debate raging over abortion coverage in healthcare reform is an example of how the issue can threaten Obama's broader agenda. But the report also points to an opportunity for the White House to allay the fears of moderates and some abortion foes by delivering on his promise to find common ground on the issue. "Folks are worried about progressive political leaders sweeping the concerns of pro-life people under the rug," says Rachel Laser, who works on culture war issues for Third Way, a Democratic-aligned think tank. "It's essential that the Democrats capture their trust."

Holocaust:

Abortion is destruction of human life.

- Abortion destroys 3200 unborn babies a day in America.

- Abortion destroys 1.2 Million unborn babies a year in America.

- Abortion has destroyed more than 45 Million unborn babies in 36 years in America.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The definition of holocaust:

hol·o·caust [ hóll? kàwst, h?l? kàwst ] (plural hol·o·causts)

noun

Definition:

1. destruction of human life: wholesale or mass destruction, especially of human life

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Abortion is destruction of human life: wholesale and mass destruction of human life.

--------------------

Abortion in America has killed more human life than Hitler and at a more rapid rate than Hitler killed. What Hitler did was a holocaust. Abortion is a holocaust.

--------------------

To have a Choice:

1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest; 6% of abortions occur because of potential health problems regarding either the mother or child, and 93% of all abortions occur for social reasons (i.e. the child is unwanted or inconvenient).

Source: http://www.abortionno.org/Resources/fastfacts.html

We should encourage responsibility. 93% of the time the mother and father made a choice to take a risk that might turn out to be inconvenient or a social reason. They need to be responsible for the life they started. We are not animals and we can make decisions (choice).

It's all about stepping up to the resposibility of the choice that was made 93% of the time.

93% of the time this can not be justified as a medical reason:

- 3200 Uborn American Babies slaughtered a day because of bad choices

- 1.2 Million Uborn American Babies slaughtered a day because of bad choices

- More than 45 Million Unborn American Babies slaughtered in 36 years

We need to do more for the 7%. We need to work hard to protect the mother and the child during this 7%.

The unborn baby does not have a choice if abortion is the choice.

Make Responsible Choices.

When you make a decision to have sex then be responsible.

Be Responsible.

Love Life.

Respect Life

Protect Life.

Love the Mother and the Child.

LOVE and Care:

No one should kill you.

You should kill no one.

Love does not destroy.

Respect for all Human Life.

Love the Mother and the Child.

We should not Kill.

We should Love one another.

We should Care for one another.

Say no to all Murder:

Using the logic from the post below:

"Better to end an unwanted conception as soon as possible, than make the resentful mother go full-term & the baby winds up in the hospital, abused by mom or the angry dad."

That logic is like saying we should pay murderers so that they won't murder. It is also like saying that we should allow them to murder someone so that they will not attempt to do it later.

I don't believe anyone agrees with this logic to allow them to murder someone early so they will not be murdered or abuse later.

Murder or abuse of a Human Being should not be allowed.

Abortion is Slaughter and it is Wrong:

Killing 3200 babies a day and 1.2 Million babies a year in America is wrong.

Abortion is Not Health CARE.

Abortion is Not LOVE or CARE.

Abortion is not a solution.

Love Education is a solution.

Responsibility is a solution.

Love Life before Life Style is a solution.

Adoption is a solution.

Love the Mother and Child.

Love Life
