Pew Poll Shows Support for Legal Abortion Has Dropped
By Dan Gilgoff, God & Country
There's an important new Pew survey out today showing abortion rights supporters no longer enjoy the edge over abortion foes that they had as recently as last year. I've got a whole column on the survey and its implications for the Obama administration and the Democrats in today's U.S. News Weekly.
For now, here are some of the major bullet points from Pew:
— In Pew Research Center polls in 2007 and 2008, supporters of legal abortion clearly outnumbered opponents; now Americans are evenly divided on the question,
— The shift in opinion is broad-based, appearing in most demographic groups in the population.
— Among Republicans, there has been a seven point decline in support for legal abortion and a corresponding six point increase in opposition to abortion.
— Fewer people say abortion is a critical issue today (15%) compared with 2006, when 28% described abortion as a critical issue facing the country.
— There has been a 26-point drop since 2006 in the proportion of liberal Democrats who say abortion is a critical issue, from 34% to 8%.

Love does not Destroy Life:
The Truth is that we all know that Abortion is not health care. It is a slaughter of 3200 unborn babies a DAY, 96,000 a MONTH, 1.2 Million a year, and more than 45 Million in 36 years in America.
This is a slaughter of the least of our people (poorest, weakest, most dependant, and least of our people).
Say NO to the free slaughter without a chance to respect and protect the lives of both the mother and the child.
Respect Life.
Protect Life.
Protect Love.
Love Life.
God Bless All of You who are Fighting the Good Fight.
Romans 12:21 - Do not be conquered by evil but conquer evil with good.
LOVE!
Seek, Speak, Share, and Defend the Truth.
LOVE LIFE.
The Bible and "rights of the unborn"
The Book of Exodus, chapter 21, is very clear on the difference between murder and abortion. In Ex. 21:12, we learn the punishment for murder: "He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death." (KJV) On the other hand, the death of a fetus carries a much less severe punishment (Ex. 21:22): "If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine." In other words, a fine.
A Few Reasons Why Fewer People Want to Embrace Abortion
1. Unlike our president, most people aren’t blinded by ideology, and know when life begins. They may chose to ignore the fact - but they know, and it slowly wears on them.
2. It’s pretty hard to hide from the science and ultrasounds. It is obvious to anyone with eyes that see that it is a human in the womb - not a turnip or tadpole. Of course, there are none so blind as those who will not see. And, nothing blinds more than a mirror held close to the face.
3. It’s a fact that over 90% of abortions are performed after irresponsible sex, and are used in place of birth control measures by the careless.
4. Nearly all babies who are aborted are killed for the sake of their parent’s convenience.
5. Many women who have aborted babies, and who later have children, are haunted by the knowledge that the ones now cradled in their arms are the brothers or sisters of those she had dismembered in her womb.
6. Many women have resisted the indoctrination of radical “feminist” groups and realize they can be feminists as well as pro-life. And, that being a loving mother is the proudest profession of all.
7. Most folks realize that no one’s personal agenda is so important that it can’t be compromised or suspended for 9 months.
8. Common sense screams at most that an infant in the womb should enjoy at least the same safety and protection as the egg of an eagle, tortoise or condor.
9. Most states still consider it murder to kill a baby in the womb - unless it is done by an abortionist at the mother’s request. It follows then that it is the “wanting” of us that makes us human to “progressives”. This twisted logic is a dark portent for the mentally ill, handicapped and elderly.
10. We have an aging population - After a few decades of life most of us come to realize the importance of objective morality, and that because an act is legal, doesn’t make it moral in the eyes of God. Or perhaps, upon looking back on the collected years of our lives, we come to understand that there are no memories, no love, no remarkable deeds done by those killed in the womb - an empty stage upon which the curtain was never raised.
It is pretty hard to hide the true nature of something so heinous as abortion.
