Creationism Advocates Publish Darwin's 'Origin of Species,' With Rebuttal
By Dan Gilgoff, God & Country
In time for the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin's Origin of Species, a major Christian ministry is publishing an edition of the book that features an introduction rebutting the theory of evolution and making the case for intelligent design. The ministry, Ray Comfort's Living Waters, is distributing tens of thousands of free copies on college campuses nationwide.
Kirk Cameron, star of the '80s sitcom Growing Pains, has recorded a video promoting the project, above.
Here's Living Waters' explanation of the 50-page introduction:
This introduction gives the history of evolution, a timeline of Darwin's life, Hitler's undeniable connections to the theory, Darwin's racism, his disdain for women, and his thoughts on the existence of God. It lists the theory's many hoaxes, exposes the unscientific belief that nothing created everything, points to the incredible structure of DNA, and the absence of any species-to-species transitional forms.
It presents a balanced view of Creationism with information on scientists who believed that God created the universe—scientists such as Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Nicholas Copernicus, Francis Bacon, Michael Faraday, Louis Pasteur and Johannes Kepler. It uses many original graphics and "is for use in schools, colleges, and prestigious learning institutions." The introduction also contains the entire contents of the popular booklet, "Why Christianity?"
Interesting to note that a recent book by the world's foremost Darwin experts makes the case that his scientific work was actually motivated by Christian-inspired abolitionism.

really?
Honestly, this seems like a bad joke. Having faith and practicing religion does not mean that you can't hold value in the theory of evolution. The bible is full of metaphors, and actually saying that the world was created in 7 days is ludicrous. Grow up and stop defacing history, modern thinking, and responsible intellectualism. Evolution is happening, every day. There is a ton of proof.... and if you really think that it isn't... feel free to stop reaping the benefits of years of evolutionary science... such as the flu shot.
The parts they left out
They are lying. They aren't republishing Origin, they have left out significant chapters necessary to Darwin's argument.
Fooled - don't be Fooled
Unfortunately, reality is also subjective - based on perception of a current situation - individual realties do not equate to collective fact - the interpretation of scientific data is as much a subjective art form as art itself.
To "believe in" scientific data is individual reality (subjective interpretation) just as any other "belief" or "religion" - theories are made through the subjective ideals of someone's quest for something definite. Unfortunately, the only definite is that we were born and we will die - BUT because no has been able "prove" they have or have not experienced life before birth and after death, we will most likely find these are not final either!
