Pregnant Women Support Act

I'm aware that DFLA, FFL and other progessive prolife groups are trying to be tactful in attempts to bring the President along, but at some point the rubber must meet the road. Someone must ask him point blank, yes or no, do you Mr. President support PWSA? This is the ultimate test as to whether "common ground" is for real or just talk, and whether any self-respecting prolifer can consider pulling the lever for a Democrat in the future. The law doesn't do anything to take the "choice" any from women, so the only legitimate objection must come from those who secretly think abortion is the right decision for these women. I understand the President is feeling pressure from all sides, but at some point, he must be pressed to commit.

to Obama Catholics who

have been back-stabbed, kicked, punched and spit upon by this administration, and now a bone is getting thrown their way for betraying their Catholic faith and giving him their vote. Hope it tastes good - was it worth it?

Ended the war? NOPE

Anybody REALLY believe these answers will be different by 2012? If so, you're living in a dream world - wake up!!!

Women Support Act

Will they support them for 18 to 21 years needed to bring-up a child? Or do they just want them to have the child then see ya.

President Obama needs a Sister Souljah moment with the abortion movement. Endless talk about reduction of abortions becomes empty after a while. It;s fruitless to try to bring opposing sides together in phoney common ground. If he thinks the PWSA is reasonable (and you'd have to be total fanatic not to think so), he should endorse it and encourage leading Democrats to co-sponsor it. If he thinks it's incomplete and that contraceptive measures need to be increased as well, he could support other bills with such provisions.

Effectively reducing abortions is not about

giving abortion opponents more public funds to assist women who are already pregnant with counseling and services run through the faith-based groups.

Effectively reducing the number of abortions is about helping prevent the women from acquiring an unplanned pregnancy in the first place. This will be done (if it is done at all) with

1) Birth control education

2) Easier access to Plan B for every woman of every age and all the time everywhere

3) Cultural messages to try to make the men be more responsible for avoidance

When will we start following the Consitutation?

Does anyone believe that the Founding Fathers intended for the Federal government to get involved this much in the daily lives of Americans?

It is sad how much the education system has failed America. Which was also not a power given to the federal government. If you ask people about the Constitution or the 10th Amendment you tend to get a blank stare. There is no understanding of Individual rights and freedom, State’s rights and freedoms and the role of the Federal Government. It seems that having the Federal Government “take Care of Us” is more important than our rights and freedoms.
