MUSLIM PRESIDENT

when will the american christianity people be able to talk in public or our children pray in school again?? oh!!! i'm sorry it may affend someone, but the president of the us can get up in from of millions of people and talk so highly of a bible written by a mans point and not the real creator.. we should give God the glory not the koran or our muslim president.. people need to open their eyes .. i mean his name says it all its a muslim name.lol i guess common sense went out the window right along with our bibles and prayer in school. why not teach values like it used to be...MAY GOD BLESS THIS WORLD AND ALL WHO DWELL!!!!!!!!!AND PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR NATION...

HYPOCRACY, OUR LEADER

Those of you who can praise this loser are obviously either

looking for a handout or plain stupid. as For FOX you need

to watch an learn the truth instead of corrupt politics from

the Obama media a-holes! YOU LIBS ARE ALL LOSERS & WEAK WIMPS!!

you voted for color not for a hardworker,it aint gonna happen!!

Total Crap

We have a Muslim President who wants to bankrupt the economy. What a little schemer. This man is the best terrorist of all time, getting into office to promote CHANGE! Change of what? Changing America into a third world country?!? I for one cannot wait for this man (that is right "man" he is not god or king) to get out of office.

Great Speech

This was an amazing and fundamentally important speech. I am always amazed by President Obama's great gift for eloquence and honest, pragmatic discourse. It is quite telling that people like Sean Hannity and the other Faux News pundits have to take his words out of context and throw tantrums about silly, made-up issues like using the term "violent extremism" instead of "terrorism" in order to criticize our Commander in Chief. It would be silly to expect the audience to cheer on those statements which are not in their favor, but Obama didn't back down or pander to their prejudices. It is because of the fact that tensions exist and anti-American sentiment is wide-spread that this speech was necessary. Hannity wants to frame Pres. Obama's foreign visits as an "apology" tour because he shares the political theory of George W. Bush and the Chinese Communist Party that the government is infallible and should never acknowledge past mistakes. This speech was another example of President Obama's greatest strength - his willingness to candidly and honestly address difficult issues and accept the reality as it is instead of as he would like it to be. We can't expect the Muslim world to make concessions if we are not willing to do so ourselves. To say that this speech will be seen as a sign of weakness is utterly incorrect - weakness is China's crackdown on public forums to avoid confronting the Tianamen Square massacre. Weakness is shown by a failure or inability to confront and acknowledge your past mistakes. It takes someone of true strength to admit that they were wrong an have erred in the past. That is the only way to diffuse tensions and set the stage for peace. In the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, progress has been unattainable for sixty years because both sides are too weak to let go of past injustices for the sake of future prosperity and peace. Israel is strong in military, but weak in courage and values, afraid to give the Palestinians freedom because they cannot endure the insecurity of letting go of control. I sincerely hope that the ideas and ideals set forth in this speech translate into actions and that President Obama is able to demonstrate the true strength of America. No progress can be made unless the Arabs and Zionists are willing to confront uncomfortable issues, admit past mistakes, respect others as human beings, and ultimately to have the courage to place themselves in a vulnerable position for the sake of their children, regardless of the political and security risks involved. I trust President Obama to return the US to its leadership role by setting just such an example and showing that true strength lies in courage, values, and humility, not in troops and weapons platforms.

applause and the Holy Bible

I write as the Baltimore Muslim Examiner for examiner.com. Yesterday, I posted an article about when the Cairo audience applauded: "President Obama's historic speech in Cairo - when was the applause?" I cannot speak for the Cairo audience, but as a Muslim American I can tell you why I would have likely applauded when verses of the Qur'an were mentioned. There is so much misinformation about Islam, Muslims, and the Qur'an in the news that hearing the Qur'an spoken about in a positive context by a US leader brings hope that these misconceptions will one day be dispelled. I felt a similar feeling when Colin Powell spoke positively about Muslims on Face the Nation.

As for the comment about Muslims' view of the Holy Bible. We are required to believe in 5 Holy Books, one of which is the Bible. Muslims revere Jesus, peace be upon him, as a great prophet. We believe that Maryam (Mary) is one of the 4 greatest women of all time; in fact, Chapter 19 in the Qur'an is named after her, may Allaah be pleased with her.

Mr.Obama is a nice human being !

I like his Cairo speech !

Now

If God Forbid there is another attack like 9/11 on US mainland, Obama will be branded as the weakest and failed president of the US. The ambition to get your name written in the history books is a very risky venture and cannot be done by using coffee house politics. Obama speech will be seen as a sign of weakness by many.

It Isn't Always Tit for Tat

A person or a nation meed not stand back and say " I will never do a good thing, admit a truth or right a wrong until the other guy does first". That is like kids in a schoolyard. Look where all our tough talk and pride have gotten us for the past 60 years. The Middle East isn't fit to live in for anybody, and our country is increasingly vulnerable to the sheer hatred that spills over.

Sure, the president is sticking his neck out, but not all that far. I suspect they do not think they can walk all over him, sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh to the contrary. And no, a Muslim would not likely be making this outreach to us. They would not likely be quoting from our Bible with the same respect that Obama quoted from the Koran. Do we want to be just like them in that regard? On the other hand, all Muslims are not Osama Bin Laden. Some of them care about the futures of their families just like we do. If the president can reach some of those in the coming generation, it might be well worth the gesture.

Since when will a Bin Laden type aplogize to us?

>You'd see applause here in the USA, too, if a Muslim leader came here and quoted anything from Jesus Christ to a broad-based audience.

WOW!I'm still waiting for a Muslim leader to come to the USA. Perhaps Bin-Laden and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will come here and apologize, and have famous quotes from Jesus Christ to a broad-based audience.

Some books seem to be "holier" than others

Re: Muser of NM No, color conscious bean counters and guilty liberals voted this guy into office. First of all, no devout Muslim would come here and publicly call the Bible, "the holy Bible". They probably wouldn't last long back in their own country. They would be called heretics. Am I the only one who notices that this so called "Christian" wants Americans to hide their faith publicly. I have yet to hear him "publicly" refer to "his" Christian text as "the holy Bible". Hmm. Someone is not genuine.
