Family Research Council Slams GOP's New National Council for a New America

The party
The Party should use the same tatics as the Dems. just attack the President until everyone believes you!
Beware of a New America
I too am leery of the National Council for a New America. We don't need a "new" America we need to recapture, reform, and restore America, as Laura Ingram said recently. While there are some good people on the Council, many of them are also part of the problem with the Republican party lately.
I supported Huckabee in 2008, and I must say he was right on a lot of the issues. I especially like his "Vertical" approach to politics and leadership. He's not an establishment party person, but he's been very loyal supporting and campaigning on behalf of many conservatives within the party. This was good blog by one of his supporters:

President Huckabee 2012
The reason why Republican's lost so many seats lately, is because a majority of the population consider them the Wall Street Super Rich. That's how most people perceive them to be.
They've lost touch with the majority of those on Main Street who struggle to make payments, working tons of overtime and two jobs to get by. It's not that the party pulled to the right socially, it's because the party financial leg pulled too close to Wall Street.
The GOP needs someone to bring back those Main Street folks while keeping social issues strong. And the best person to do that is Mike Huckabee. That's why Ronald Reagan was such a strong President. He pulled in the Main Street folks while maintaining the strong social issues.
Check out Mike Huckabee's fan base, it keeps growing. His Fan base already has 50 States of Huckabee Fans that span 275 counties in America. Nearly 10% of the entire United States.

It's only been 4 months since President Obama was elected. The Huckabee Fans are working around the clock setting the bar higher everyday. The momentum is growing at a rapid pace for those folks on Main Street. Check out the link above and see which states in America have the largest amount of Huckabee Fans.
Helps Gov. Huckabee
"Must say I'm shocked to see an evangelical group (FRC) promote... an evangelical (Huck). How is this news?"
FRC actually didn't promote Huck in 2008 so this is big move if this is indeed what this is. It is hard to tell thought at this stage.
Huckabee in recent polling by PPP did have the highest favorable among any Republican figure...and particularly did will with Independents which he is going to need if he runs again.
Going "social-issue right"
"They're gonna go "social-issue right" for sure, but it's arguable whether it will help them. FRC (above) has it's position. I think they already went there in 2008 and that doing so is WHY they lost."
How many times were "social-issue right" things brough up in 2008? Maybe once or twice in any debate. It was all economy. Other than Sarah Palin being religious, social-right issues were never brought up. It was ALL ECONOMY, anti-Bush, etc. If ever there was an election cycle where social issues were not at the forefront it was this one. To say that's why the Republican lost is ridiculous. I think a lot more people were paying attention to the economy tanking in October than abortion.
Going hard right for 2012, I tell ya
The Republicans have nothing else to run on but abortion, gay marriage and guns for all. That's how they "draw a crowd" with and for Sarah Palin. No one else would go to see her. And, the Godfather of Church people, Rush Limbaugh, won't support anyone else.
They're gonna go "social-issue right" for sure, but it's arguable whether it will help them. FRC (above) has it's position. I think they already went there in 2008 and that doing so is WHY they lost.
Hard to say. There are a lot of nuts in the country. My Albuquerque paper has a front-page story today saying that since Obama's election, there has been such a run on buying up ammunition that the police department is having a hard time finding bullets to buy. No kidding.
